It's very easy to find their profile here, using their steamID64

This is how to find someone using their steamID64 : www.steamgifts.com/user/id/[steamID64]
For example, http://www.steamgifts.com/user/id/76561198031582331 leads to your profile

Yep, but these are like "You need to have a certain achievement" or "Your CV needs to be $9001" which anybody can achieve. Not that I'd be interested in joining this group, but as a male who thinks he's a male I feel "left out". Many people on the internet have said that gaming has nothing to do with Your gender and I agree with them totally. While having a gaming group is a nice idea, I don't like when people "push up" their genders.

I really don't think gay men identify themselves as girls. Sexuality =/= gender identity.

well there is already a popular girl gamer group, that everyone can join: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/GirlGamers
a group just for girls would be nice ;)
i don't mind playing with other genders, but sometimes i just wanna play with girls..

I mean at the moment, It was a group for all my friends who are girls (Trans, think they should be girls), friends that are gay and such that wish to be girls, I'd hope most people that join are the ones that are nice, friendly, and like to play and have fun :)

I totally understand where you're coming from but I also get why groups like this one exist. It's like luller said, it's about finding other members of your sex with common interest. Other female gamers are hard to find because they are fewer in number than males. It's especially frustrating as a female when you share your gaming interest with female friends and find that their response is something along the lines of "that's so nerdy..." or even (I had this exact line said to me once) "games like that are for guys." So groups like this are useful to help females find other females with an interest in gaming to make friends with.

Hardcore gamers? All those stats about girls being even in number to male gamers seem to include people who play angry birds on their phone or bejeweled on their computer. It's hard to find a girl who would play CSGO with me while it's much easier to find a guy to play CSGO with.

Then neither is your suggestion on how to find other girls to play with... That is also a method of segregation of sexes.
The very article you posted even supports female only:
"Switching from male-only/female-only to open-to-all/female-only is a good move for the IeSF - if they really want to encourage women to get involved, and not to feel alienated in a male-dominated environment, then female-only spaces have to be an option."
For the most part I think we are of the same mind. I am very tired of seeing fights about genders on the internet. "Guys can't do this but girls can", "girls can do this but guys can't", etc. I think we should be less concerned about genders and rather just people and their abilities. But nevertheless, men and women are different and sometimes I just want to hang with a group of girls.

When men become the discriminated against gender, and have to deal with being paid less than women, and being harassed on the street for the clothing they wear, and have to deal with behaving in a way that "won't entice a woman to rape him" then I'll support your "male-only" group 100%.

Maybe you've just read it with the wrong tone in your mind?
The things she said are true, at least they are in Croatia.
I've lead a couple of classes in high school and participated in discussions on the "look what the slut is wearing" topic in my university (mostly females) and you wouldn't believe the reactions.
It's a very complicated topic and I'd prefer not to get into it now but try not to judge Scotia for her comment and call her a "feminazi" (so very very insulting, just think of what Nazis really did to people) as it's hard to get your intentions across on the web.

I know what you meant but I still wanted to ask you to reconsider using the term as it really hurts my feelings to see anyone getting tied to the horrors that the Nazis did (and it is a part of the name so it is tying it to them/their manner of behavior), especially when someone just expressed their opinion and wasn't even insulting while doing it.
I wasn't even thinking that you're against equality, and I by no means have a problem with you, I just have a problem with that term.
I agree that forcefully imposing any beliefs in not the way to go about it and that nothing good has ever come of.
It's just how I feel about that term and I totally respect your right to ignore my feelings about it but, as I've seen you around here quite a lot, I was pretty sure you wouldn't mind me expressing my feelings on the matter and would give some thought to my feelings and what I wanted to say :)

Anyone can join, it doesn't just have to be girls :) Just putting this out here, for people to meet new people, friends and such and have a great time together :3

Why do girls need an exclusive space in an extremely co-ed demographic of people? Why can't gamers just be gamers? Like we have for decades? Why do some of the females feel the need to break off and form groups like this? I'll never understand.

My god, what's happening with all the girl-supremacy-over-analyzing here? xD
It's a group where girls can meet other girls and that's not an easy thing to do on Steam, believe you me.
Yes, sometimes we girls wanna chat with other girls because, guess what, we're girls and men do not necessarily enjoy our topics of conversation.
Not a lot of men are interested in discussing the sexiness of Zevran, how you loved April Ryan's hair and outfits and so on...
Any men out there interested in talking about my PMS? I'm guessing... Nope xD
I'm not really interested in discussing football or car engines and stuff men generally like (I'm speaking in general here, not trying to put anyone in any box)
The society already put us in our little boxes and, as much as we change when we "outgrow" that, men and women still have some different preferences in general.
Also, men considering gender change to women sometimes feel more comfortable talking about their desires and the whole process with women so why not make it easier for them to find someone to talk to?
Yes, gamers are gamers and no one is saying otherwise but let's be realistic and admit that there are way more male gamers out here and if you're a girl and want some your-gender company you're gonna have a tougher time finding that than men would.

Wasn't that article you found the other day enough to convince you there are probably guys into this ? :D

Well, you can't help some basic boxes as our genders and hormones do define us to some extent and a man will never be truly able to understand some of women's problems the way other women can. You can try to imagine it but you'll never really know what it's like. It's the same the other way around.
Anything beyond that depends on the person.
I know a lot of girls who love football, men who can't stand it and so on and so forth.

Yeah but stereotypes do sometimes help out a bit when you're trying to find people to talk to about some things. I believe I'd have far more success if I tried to find someone to talk to about car engines and went to talk with 10 guys than I would if I did the same with 10 women.
I too have a some "male" qualities that make me a bit of an outcast as men expect me to be more "girly" and girls get weirded out by some of my actions as they're too "manly". For example, I trained karate and kickboxing for over a decade and I have no problem defending myself. Guys don't like it as they'd prefer to "come to the rescue" (as if! one guy I was seeing at the time stood aside and watched another guy attacking me after I warned him to stop touching my ass without my permission) and girls think I'm "too aggressive" when I stand up for myself physically.
I didn't care about fashion, had long black hair, hanged out with "geeks", mostly wore jeans and black tops. It's a weird world out there and fitting in is/was really hard, at least for me xD
But, a couple of years ago I've decided to take the "easy way out" because I gained nothing from "standing up for myself" (only in that sense I mean) and I've colored my hair blonde, started wearing "fashionable" clothing and guess what? Everyone is so much happier around me. I guess people just feel more at ease when you're not challenging their beliefs with you existence xD

It's the way of the world... Joining them is so much more easy once you give up your self-righteousness and ego and the rewards, for me at least, were well worth it. Also, to be honest, I've gotten quite used to it by now. Making a huge deal out of a broken finger nail has become second nature xD

ugh *note to self: never join girls only groups*

yeah, I know :D But I always feel weird when someone writes such things as examples of girly topics... I can't picture myself talking about such things (really, sometimes I wonder if I was born into right gender not in a serious manner, but it baffles me sometimes) and I don't know many women who would (but maybe I'm just lucky), so I have quite a dissonance ;)

Being a girl, i dislike these girl aimed groups.
It's like it is becomming some form of cult, funny seeying how most girls in girl groups are guys anyways.
I perfer potato groups.
