As of right now, I like the new system. It reduces my time on the site significantly and that's a good thing because I felt like I've spent too much time here over the years.

2 days and I still can't stockpile points up to 500

But I want dem Furi and/or Orwell (since I don't much of RPGMVX Ace GA's)

My experience for now is because of the humble monthly (there is two game on my wishlist) i only focus on those two games and even then i don't enter ones that are 1500+ , and ignoring pretty much the others, i end up with no points, maybe when there is a new bundle that doesn't interest me i can bank some points, but for now i pass to many giveaways for the lack of points. It's fine for me i dont make a big deal.

My experience is that it usually takes months to win a game from the monthly, except for WL/group/hard puzzle GAs. Either wait (with most users having a big backlog, it shouldnt be an issue to wait) or subscribe or use low prices for your wishlist items at the grey market after the revealing.

TL,DR!
I am kidding. You are right. We must choose the things that require our attention in ways that does not damage us.
Thank you for the wall of text and the gibs. Even though i did not enter any of them cause i have sakuras. (for an UNKNOWN reason i bought the average pack... Maybe boobs. yes maybe boobs was a part of this but i was dissapointed... why am i still talking about boobs? )

Since this post tangentially touches on rational thinking I feel this is a good place for a reading/listening suggestion

Please mate. Nobody was talking about owned games on Steam, but the 203 wins of yours where you only bothered to unlock at least 1 achievement in 2/92 of your games (interestingly both of them removed). I don't care if you don't play the games you buy for yourself, but I wouldn't let you get close to the games I paid even a single cent for.
Also bullshit about the autojoiner, You're member of only 22 groups, including the treasured AutoJoin for S.Gifts, where I only blacklisted people who actively took part in the group, asking for changes or talking about their worries about the upcoming change - and I used a special note for each of them, so I can tell 100% sure that I blacklisted you because of that group.

I don't give a damn about them and if what they use. There are multiple other scripts that have one-click entry buttons. If someone's stupid enough to openly be in a group that's named after and maintains a script that's forbidden by the site rules, then they deserve what is coming after them. If there would be a way to do that I would just blanket-blacklist all that 2900 users without a second thought.Don't give your name to a group tha facilitate breaking of the rules next time for something that you could get from other sources as well.
And even if I ignore the autojoiner part, the other point still stands.

I had made a suggestion to that effect while Steamgifts V2 was still in beta (group blacklisting) but alas it was not added. That specific group was even the example I had given as a reason for implementing the feature.

I propose that all users are automatically entered in all giveaways, then everyone will be happy and will of course win more since they are entered in more giveaways

I guess the test will be to see how many games we successfully win from now on.
Before, I entered a ton of GAs, never noticed the bots, and won some game that I liked - gave away a bunch too.
Now, I can only enter a fraction of the GAs, don't notice the bots, and... we'll see. I do have be more selective, but that has nothing to do "only picking the games that I truly want" - there's plenty of games that I truly want but I have to watch them pass me by. If anything, I have to micromanage my points more.
So right now, the only thing noticeable is that I can't enter as many GAs, and that feels bad. If I win at the same rate as before, or more, well... I'll feel better about this.
Also, I disagree with the whole "Hey guys, don't worry about winning! Go out and read a book or something." Telling people not to obsess over it may technically be good advice, but purpose of this website is to give away and win games. You can win free games here and there's nothing wrong with wanting to win as much as you can. It's why we're all here.

This started as a comment, that was initiated by Tzaar's comment of this and then turned into a small novel. Please read his comment before going further, I don't want to rephrase my already written WoT.
True, it's more like the bots just have less of a headstart in entries and wins, but as far as the bot enters thh 100P giveaways I enter as well, that bot won't change my chances. I was thinking about this for a while, and seriously, all the conclusion I can get from my example that I have no idea how this works out. I only missed out giveaways that I didn't enter as I wasn't online at a point, my next giveaway that I want to enter ends in 3 days - so I can enter everything with ease, just not upfront, a week in advance. But considering that I currently see 33 giveaways (all unwanted hidden) 23 of it being Furi (20P ea, 460) the remaining being 81 points and I'm thinking about another 20P game. Also entered shitloads of Furi GAs, so without that game being in the bundle, or me not winning Orwell like an hour after the giveaways started, would change the situation completely - either I would have ~80P to spend for DAYS and not more, or I would hav close to double of giveawys what I would l like to enter for (needing about 50% more points)
Currently, I like how the system is NOW, FOR ME. I wouldn't notice the change without Furi, and I would be out of points / ignoring the Orwell giveaways if I wouldn't already have it - the two different ends of the scale.
So this is just a bit of my side / opinion, I would maybe change the system a bit, at least for testing purposes - go back to the % point regeneration, but hit it hard, so an average day (no new bundle, no huge discount... would be hard to find) the regeneration would be similar than now the fixed one, ~ 500P/24h, whatever percentage it means.
I'm used to entering and not winning, so not entering is not winning is not big of a change, let's face it. And it's also crazy that people feel the need to micromanage their entries between giveaways to have 1to2000 chance instead of 1to2100 and such, while the site requires just a click to enter. Why make it a job, a stressful management "meta" out of it? :| so I don't know. I'm happy seeing giveaways for a game I want, and I'm superhappy if I win it. But I never ever check what I missed, or didn't win because that's not my problem. When I miss out a giveaway by seconds, or because I ignored the site - I just laugh and say a damn about it. Why worry? about 99,9% chance that I wouldn't have won it anyways. (1to1000)
Seems like the fear of missing out that I successfully overcame is at hysteric/paniced level in some people, which is something I just can't grasp. We lose nothing here. Someone says they miss time? Just enter and ignore the site then, don't obsess over it. Sooner or later a win will happen, it's inevitable. One should focus on other aspects of their life, not just winning. Play, read, watch a movie, read a comic, draw, sing, play a music instrument, go for a walk, don't let SG, and especially it's giveaways be the main aspect of your life.
I'm talking from experience, I had about half-year of my life when my sleeping schedule was set around my Farmville crops, or tried to be minute on-time with a facebook hidden object game's point resets. These obsessive behaviour can be broken by concentration and evaluating what the person gives to the game/site from their life, and what's the payoff ; is it even worth it. Don't get more stress in your life just to have a permille better chance to win a game you may or may not like at all.
I have a personality that tends to obsess with things, be it spending my points, learning rules, memorizing lore, and an almost subcounscious urge to try to do the best. Fuck it, I was literally daydreaming and actually dreaming about Starfew Valley. But not because it's how nice, and calm, but that how many days I have from the season, what I can produce, how much money I'll have, how to get the best out of my money/time/energy...
These urges are controllable. Notice it, it's not good to tunnelvision so much on something that matters so little, even in a week's scale. Sometimes help to do something entirely different, or burn brdges and block Farmville and the gift-spamming friends on facebook :) or filtering out the games that are "Eh, it doesn't look bad" or worse, and keep the ones in the giveaway list that actually are interesting. Limiting choices help against overwhelming oneself.
Pay attention to yourself and notice when you want to do something, and when you're being manipulated to think that you want to do that thing, be it spending all your points on SG, playing a game to a completion or going for 100% in Knight of Pen & Paper that shitshow of a game. All people work in a way that our mind loves completion, whole shapes, finishing something, and we trick outselves into doing un-fun things for the sake of it, or let others twist us into that way. Just look at the gaming industry, how more trending the gameplaytime through repetition is, than quality gameplay time by showing new content.
And edit with giveaways because customs? level 2, runs for 5 days (= days longer than should be :P )
