The only advise I could give is to have more willpower next time.
Alternatively if that doesn't work at least get yourself to do some research before buying the game.
If that doesn't work either then at the very least NEVER get exited about it. That way when the game turns out to be crap you will be less disappointed.

Next time check user reviews. Metacritich and Youtube gameplays make the job easier.

It does not look and sound way too good (while RE6 does, but that is another can of worms), it was never shown as a free roam game, that would have been Dead Rising, it has no exploration or survival elements, it is Left 4 Dead meets SOCOM. And you should've googles/youtubed stuff first.

You should've gotten Dead Rising 2/Off the Record, Resident Evil Revelations, or even Re6.
Hell, RE5.

Try the demo first, if the game has no demo just download the pirated version and play. If you like it, buy, if not delete. That´s what i usually do.

You should have got Resident Evil 6, operation raccoon city was more of a beta if you look at 6.
