What is the fastest/best way to get knife?
I thought money was made to be spent on things you want and enjoy. Why can a csgo knife not be such a thing?

CS:GO is a hobby. Most of CS:GO players mainly play CS:GO, some almost never play other games. Its a primary hobby. You can even separate it into two categories: "Gamers" and "CS players". I do not consider myself a gamer at all, I play a lot games when I'm tired of CS:GO, but I always come back to CS:GO. I've always played CS, since I was 14 years old (I'm 27 now). Its one of my primary hobbies. And people spend money on their hobbies. And the more money you have, more you spend. The more time you spend playing it, more the money you spend on it will be well spent.
When you have some extra money, buying things only for pleasure its nice. New things are always nice. Doesn't matter how much money you have. Feeling pleasure by owning new stuff its not a capitalism invention. Even buying a new pen can give you pleasure. Didn't you loved the feel of going to school with a new pen and a new copybook, even tho the ones from the last year were still in perfect conditions? Didn't you loved new toys, when you already had a ton of toys, just to get tired of the new ones in the next weeks?
Yes its virtual. Yes its just some pixels. But the logic is all the same. Doesn't matter if you can't touch it. I could say clothes are just cotton. Toys are just plastic.

Yeah but Ferrari is really fast. Much faster than a regular car. It gives you advantages comparing to other drivers. All CS knives are the same (they just look different) and they deal the same amount of damage. Your argument is invalid.

Assuming you're fully capable of taking care of your finances, the "best" way to get a knife you actually want would be from the market. Subjective to opinion because of course people will give you their stories on how they got $1,000 knifes in four cases, but case opening is gambling, it's designed to profit from you. For every person that's struck gold in case openings, there's thousands who haven't.

To those people arguing about whether it's a waste of money or not, remember that it can be resold (minus Steam tax) or retraded (without tax) without any penalties when the owner gets tired of using it, assuming constant market prices (if they go up, you might even profit). Of course that money will be permanently locked to Steam either way, but I am sure that most of you will find a way to spend your Steam funds sooner or later.

Well I bouhgt mine, and I dont think is a waste of money just because I an sell it any time and get back 100% of the money I spend on it (I got it for 44 U$ and it costs around 60 u$, if you think Im wrong due to the steam charges)
I dont think its worth opening boxes, only because it's a huge risk, I mean you could get your money back and even make money (stattrak karambiit fade factory new) but It's most likely that YOU WILL lose money opening cases

You could do this back in the original CS and CSS, but I think they removed it from GO. I know you can't change the players skins anymore, not 100% sure about weapon skins. Pretty sure you can't.

Not sure if I will continue to play GO, but if I do, I don't think I will ever put a skin on a weapon. Not even the ones I get for free, just because I think it is absolutely ridiculous that people would pay real money for them and I don't want to support the idea. Just seems like an idea for valve to make millions of dollars so you can show an image to your friends that they have probably seen before and it means nothing. Same thing with steam profile ranks. The lengths people go to get higher ranks on their steam profile is ridiculous and what do you get for it, bragging rights? What is our world coming to?
