I think SWAT 4 was the best SWAT/Police simulation game I ever played. Is there any games like it that are multiplayer?

On what planet is it mostly the same? Its Left 4 Dead with cops instead of zombies. Games like Swat are far more tactical with rules of engagement and the likes to contend with. Its more "sim" than action. That's not to say Payday doesn't require tactics, but its much easier to wing it in Payday than Swat.

Well I know Takedown: Red Sabre is something similar to SWAT 4 but according to the many many many reviews, it's pretty bad. Okay, very bad.

Yeah, it's absolutely terrible. And it's such a shame, I'd also like something like SWAT 4 again. I wish the Rainbow Six series hadn't changed so much, but that might be the closest.

Rainbow Six is the correct answer.
Payday 2 and counter strike is nothing like it.

Edit: Oh and Operation Flashpoint and Arma. I prefer Operation Flashpoint though.
Edit 2: Probably the Ghost Recon series, not sure.

The closest I can think of are the original three Rainbow Six titles.

There are more tactical shooters out there, like the excellent Hidden & Dangerous, but I can't think of any more law enforcement-focused games like these.
