Epic games or epic fail?

View Results
[Tier 1] A dollar for a rather Bad Omen, why not..
[BTA] I don't buy zombie games out of principle. T2 is as far as I can go.
[Tier 3] I'm actually Drifting towards getting them all.
[Have] Not sure how that happened. I might need to see a therapist.
[Skip] Epic savings just in time for the Steam Sale tomorrow.
[Store selection] I don't want non-Steam games, IGN. Keep them.
[Curatorship criticism] I've never seen so many mediocre games in one place. It's like the Epic Go Go Bundle.
[Potato] "This bundle supports It Gets Better Project" – hopefully Humble's efforts get better too.

It doesn't include the Steam key, so you don't need to see it.

Positive note: good, not a mix of storefronts in one bundle.

indeed

That would be beyond annoying.

Imagine a bundle with 1 steam, 1 drm free, 1 gog, 1 itch.io, 1 battle.net, 1 origin, 1 ubisoft, 1 epic, a discount, a 1 month mmo subscription and dlc for a paid game not included in the bundle.

We've already recently seen a uplay key mixed in with a mostly steam bundle, unfortunately. Also, many bundles have added drm free content usually unadvertised, though often it's non steam copies of a couple of the steam items or things like soundtracks.

I mean, that second part to me is perfectly fine. When I said DRM free, I mean one of the games is randomly just a drm free only copy. Not saying that's bad, but it would be as part of this imaginary bundle

I thought the same. I prefer them to have separated bundles for different storefronts.

they are Epic exclusives. One more reason to dislike Epic

Don't really care about that since most games are only on 1 or 2 platforms anyway. I care about the quality of the games, which is kinda lacking in this bundle. or maybe these are just not my type of games.

On one hand, i don’t use the store this bundle is made for.
On another, i don’t care for any of the games here, except maybe Dangerous Driving.

Probably the easiest skip since HB started doing bundles.

you won't enjoy dangerous driving, menu looks like ripped burnout 3 (ironically those were ex burnout developers), driving is like pure rng ... you could hit a wall or car and nothing happend or you fall through bondaries, the map, throu cars or crash with the weird physics ... crashing isn't fun if you cant control your car when you're in the cutscene, there is a ok car choice, but they look like asset models ... there is no ingame music, the only thing you can do is link your spotify account to the game ... if you have spotify premium. graphics is overblurred in my opinion

A lot of people hate Epic for their store, but I'm mad they cannot finish Unreal Tournament with 0.01% of the revenue they got from Fortnite.

exactly, they could make a new UT to blow away Quake Champions

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Quake is better and still empty. not that much profit coming their way ,even if by overthrowing sabre's take on the classic.
I love these games but the cash aint there anymore

If Arena shooters started to grow in popularity. Say, Quake would start attracting more attention, Epic would push UT in a heartbeat. But now there's nothing to compete for.

I was waiting for when they would bring an epic only bundle out, or at least epic only keys, instead of the choose between epic/steam

They could have at least done a bundle with EGS exclusive only. As it stands it's a big F.U. to steam users.
I wonder if IGN changed the ratings for the games on their review page before the bundle released because I'm pretty sure Dangerous Driving was sitting under 7 before lol

Oh I didn't recognise the names so I thought maybe it was only exclusive. I tried looking at the games but like they either don't have them or barely anything. I'm pretty sure I've only gone on the site like twice but I'm only positive once and that was looking at kingdom hearts

Well, if Epic is following its usual pattern, they might even be paying IGN to make exclusive bundles so I don't think it'll be the last.

Omen of Sorrow was previously given away by IGN. Had there been a couple of more games in the dollar tier I might have gone for it but there's nothing to interest me enough to drop more than that.

I'm surprised it took them this long, and I don't see anything wrong with it. However, I already have WWZ (at Epic) and don't really want any much of the rest, so I'll pass.
