Epic games or epic fail?

View Results
[Tier 1] A dollar for a rather Bad Omen, why not..
[BTA] I don't buy zombie games out of principle. T2 is as far as I can go.
[Tier 3] I'm actually Drifting towards getting them all.
[Have] Not sure how that happened. I might need to see a therapist.
[Skip] Epic savings just in time for the Steam Sale tomorrow.
[Store selection] I don't want non-Steam games, IGN. Keep them.
[Curatorship criticism] I've never seen so many mediocre games in one place. It's like the Epic Go Go Bundle.
[Potato] "This bundle supports It Gets Better Project" – hopefully Humble's efforts get better too.

Cool bundle

'This bundle has raised €158.25 for charity! '

Ye, ppl hates epic

I'm not sure how you calculated that, but I think it should be double that (which is still abysmal).

Currently at: This bundle has raised €567.84 for charity!

If you assume the highest tier of €12.83, that's €0.63 that goes to charity by default. That would mean 900 bundles sold at full price after 1.5 hours.

Edit: I am stupid. Didn't realize they still showed their sales numbers. Less than 1500 sold after 16 hours, yikes.

How do I know these won't be put up for free in the future? Too risky for me.

Hm, a bundle that doesn't fatten Gaben further, interesting

Has there been a bundle that has fattened Gaben?

I guess every Steam bundle is indirectly fattening Gaben. Because, even when Valve does not gain anything from bundle sales, with every game activated and tied to their platform they also increase the chance that users might also buy more games from them directly. That being said, I'm not a fan of Epic Chinese spyware either, so a dedicated GOG bundle would be a nice thing to have?

Good point. However, it's not just a cut, every cent changing its owner on the community market is basically tied to the platform already. So, eventually someone will spend it on the Steam store.

Valve gets money from every card sold
Every DLC bought for the base game (a bit stretch)
And it's a jump, but peer pressure, people buying games they've seen others playing (a bigger stretch, but still exists as an effect)

Nah, I'll wait until they give them away

This would be an easy "yes" from me if I could gift WWZ to a friend who missed it when it was free.

I haven't had the occasion to claim an epic game from an HB bundle yet...do they not give a key to redeem at the epic store? I ask because you mentioned you couldn't gift...so perhaps one has to link their Epic account to HB or something.

If it was a 5-6$ tier 3 maybe it was worth it...

Is this their first EGS bundle? If so you would think they would try and make it somewhat attractive. Their $1 tier has been dog shit for so long.

I hope not many will buy this, Epic is doing enough damage already, having to give up on HBs would be a shame

don't mind that it's epic, but the selection of games isn't anywhere near what I'd play so...perhaps next time.

wow, they took money from charity and put it into their own account by default and the extra is a joke, at least they let you select custom ammounts

they take 30% and just 5% goes to charity
and the extra is 15% but they still take 27.5%
IGN turned this into a business

The cancer Epic found another victim. RIP Humble, the next step is putting exclusive Epic keys in the monthly.
Thanks for the chart Lilly (indeed Epic never apply what they say to themselves lol).

I don't hate Epic at all. But this is still a bad bundle, with a previously free game at the top and four games with "Weak" ratings. I actually wanted to grab Spelldrifter with the coupon, but since it found itself in such a bad bundle, it's probably not too good and I didn't miss anything
