Mass Effect 2 activates fine, some of my games activate fine, some don't. Its a shitty service, not to mention you get different results and information depending on who you talk to. I was told I could not activate Dead Space 2, 3 chats later I had it activated.
Stick to Steam.

I got them to add my Mirrors Edge and Dead Space while arguing with representatives for a couple hours (counting the 5 Minute and 28 minute wait between different support people) and they said it was a one time thing but wouldn't activate my other games. Both are on this list and it says nothing about any except steam.

"Allyn: Then you can directly purchase the game from Origin Store."
Silly EA people trying to make you buy games you already own. Also, for a support goon, he should have a better grasp on the English language. "Allyn: Your welcome!"

well, that makes sense. that is really exploitable. you may use your steam and origin account separately, so you can actually make an origin account, move your steam game and sell it to someone. and it is even more exploitable, if the game doesn't have a key, because you can come again to their support and tell, you have a steam game and wanna move it to another origin account:)

This is weird. I activated all my steam games from EA on origin. DAO-UE, ME2 worked directly for ME1 and Crysis Warfare I used one of these two sites(cant remember which one): this and this. And after I refreshed my Origin game list the games were there.
For First Crysis game it was a little tricky. I bought Crysis + Crysis Warvare during EA week on steam. At that time there was a problem with keys and people were not even able to play the game because securom. During this time i was stupid enough to try to register my key on an old EA site where it worked but that has nothing to do with origin. After they fixed the problem with keys I was unable to register my key on origin because it was already used(on that old website).
So I contacted support. After a few minutes of me playing the "angry customer role". I went one tier up in the chat support and another guy asked me some details about my purcashe and he added Crysis Collector Edition on origin with a different key from my steam key. But before this I think I contacted support 3 different times with no success. It really matters who you get on chat support. Either is a person who goes "lemme see what I can do for you" or someone who's like "Sorry, sir, that's totally impossible!"

Well often people wanted that someone would take the step and cut EA down a notch. I guess the only platform capable of this is Steam. Then again EA is probably miles away in other categories and I doubt they suffer too much from this. I hope they would though, EA seems kind of evil. Like Microsoft.

so.... is there ANY REASON AT ALL to get origin?
PS: cult needs to master the single line break

I've had my own bad experienced with Origin support chat. I may have saved the last chat log on here somewhere, if I find it I'll post it lol. I heard how good their new support was, so I tried it out, and was utterly, disgustingly, disappointed. The reps they have on support chat may as well be bots, but programmed for bullshit Customer Service lines instead of porno lines.

Well, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, Alice: Madness Returns and Dragon Age 2 can be activated on an EA Origin account via Steam keys.

An article at PC Gamer lists the Steam games that they tried and were successful with activating on Origin:
It looks like people in this thread have mentioned that the following are also activatable on Origin:
Apparently, there is also a way to activate The Sims 3, but it seems like it uses a legacy method: http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=23941544

So, I have Mass Effect 1 and 2 on Steam, and it's known that you can activate your EA games from Steam on Origin. So, I'm like "Well, let's give Origin a shot, I have a few games on an Origin account anyway"
I try the ME1 key a few times on the Origin program, nothing happens. I find a product activation key page, and successfully activate Mass Effect. It asks me to create a third ID to tie to my EA account, and says I just need to download EADM to get it. I look in my Origin library, and it's not there. So, I do live chat for help:
Thank you for choosing EA. A representative will be with you shortly.

and I'm trying to activate them on my Origin account
you:
but....I just can't quite figure it out
you:
I did the thing at https://activate.ea.com/applybeslddcode.do#
you:
and it said it tied it to my account...but, I don't see it in my Origin library
Clayton:
There is no way to transfer this download
Clayton:
Some games work for Transferring to Origin, but none are supposed to and we do not support it
you:
After activating your product, you will need the EA Download Manager application to download your product. If you do not have the EA Download Manager, you can download the application with the provided link bellow. If you already have the EA Download Manager, simply login with your EA account used to activate the product. The EA Download Manager automatically verifies that you are the licensed user of your product, so it must be installed on your PC in order for you to download any product activated. Download the EA Download Manager
you:
that's what's on the web page
you:
after I successfully activated it
you:
Product Successfully Activated You have successfully activated the following product(s): GAME-MASSEFFECT for your account: ****@gmail.com
you:
being at the top
Clayton:
And the game is not on your list?
you:
I've tried refreshing my origin library several times, and it just shows Burnout Paradise and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Digital Deluxe
Clayton:
Like I said though, we do not support the transfer, so there is nothing I can do about this
you:
but your site said it was successfully activated?
Clayton:
Yes, but it's not supposed to work
Clayton:
That is why it is not working
you:
Well, thank you anyway, Clayton
Clayton:
No problem, sorry

This is nonsense, they have no idea how their site/platform is running.
