Torchlight? No way!

Yes way. The developers made the game scalable for netbooks as well. They're intending to do the same for Torchlight 2, but for current generation netbooks (this is yet to be verified, though).

I watched some E3 videos yesterday and Max Schaefer says they haven't done full testing yet but they have run Torchlight 2 on current gen netbooks and it works fine but they haven't tested back to see how old/low spec they can go. It is definitely nice to see a dev work hard to get as many people access as possible to their game.

The first Torchlight definitely will run on netbooks well though, it is a great recommendation.

I'm still hyped about TB's interview about XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It's sounding very promising. Finger's crossed.

Battlefield and Skyrim wont run on your netbook. I think you can't play many new games with your netbook

With a few hiccups, though. The game gets pretty laggy for a few seconds, but nothing too serious.

What kind of gameplay are you wanting? Even if your specs aren't great there are still shitbutts of games you can play.

Apparently Torchlight runs really well on netbooks... definitely a great title if you're into action rpg style.

I got Spacechem working on my netbook (it's one of the newer asus) but it's the non-steam version. I think installing steam will bog down the netbook (even the latest).

Onlive, Terraria, Call Of Duty 1 & 2, Battlefield games before Battlefield 2, Basically any 2D indie game, world of goo, meat boy, jamestown etc

Jamestown is a bit heavy on the CPU so no, it won't run. I tried it on a Netbook with a dual core Atom N570 @ 1.6GHz and it was slow.

Blocks That Matter, Beat Hazard, Rhythm Zone, And Yet it Moves, Audiosurf, Braid, GalconFusion, Night Sky, Cave Story (I haven't tried the + version from Steam), Osmos, Solar 2, World of Goo and Terraria are the Steam games I've tried that run nice on my Netbook. Also, the classic versions of the Serious Sam games run nicely.

Max Payne 1 + 2 (I was able to run this on my old laptop with 256MB Ram and Intel graphics chip, with lowest settings)

Fallout 1 or 2.
Thief 1 or 2 (they run on my 10+ years old laptop, so that netbook should have no problems, I think)

Lerague of Legends runs decently on mine. Though I have AMD's C-50 in my netbook, and my screen rez is 1280x720. So, not sure if it'll run on yours, but it's free to play so it's worth a shot.

Working on fine mine:

Baldur's Gate and similars
Half Life
Desperados
Evolva
Diablo 1 & 2
SNES, MegaDrive and PSX emulators.
Rayman
Civilization 2
Broken sword 3
Serious Sam 1st and 2nd encounter

Working Meh:
Binding of Isaac
Torchlight

For some reason, Duke Nukem 3D and Redneck Rampage are unplayable even with DosBox.
