Do you watch a lot of anime? I do. Mostly on Netflix, but also some on Crunchy and got a hidive account for a second season of a series i like (but have to use VPN to USA because the series is unavaliable in Sweden). Recently finished season 1 of Higurashi: When They Cry, and it was pretty good, and the second season is rated even better, so enjoying that currently.

Should I start with 80/90's stuff or new stuff?

I haven't seen the new one yet, and personally I like the old style more but I can understand how some people may dislike the "dated" animations. What I didn't like in the new one is how everyone visually looks the same and how some ships were re-designed, but other than that I can't comment on the DNT(the remake) much since I haven't seen it. Also if you watch the remake, then it's not finished yet and you might have to wait for the other parts to be adapted.

So from what I've read it comes down to preference:

  • If you like more modern animation and a faster pace(from what I've heard) then you can watch the new one :D
  • If you're okay with older animation and a "documentary" style of storytelling then you could go for the old one, since it's also finished (that's if you can find where to watch it :D)

Had a look at both and will go with original. First episode felt like I was just watching the same thing over again. I think the ships look better in the original and the pace seemed the same, at least for the first episode anyway.

Is this a remake?

more like alternative setting, cause im not sure if they respect the order of the events in the manga, but it's way different than the original

Maybe I'm stretching "recently" a bit, but here's a great, super funny and criminally obscure comedy.

Also this comedy too, which recently got an even better second season. :D

And with that I've exhausted all the anime I've watched in the last 2 years or so... so, yeah, I wouldn't really say that I watch all that much anime... ^_^'

I've always been a super fan of cartoons, which evolved into being a fan of anime. Now i watch anime same as most people follow normal shows, and find many enjoyable shows to watch each season.

Lots of good ones to watch this season, bu right now the one that stands out to me for it being simple goofy fun, is, The Eminence in Shadow.

I'll have to check out Higurashi. Havnt checked Netflix for awhile, as I get burned out on it after a few months, and take a break for a year or two. Last anime i watched on Netflix was Cyberpunk.

I used to watch a lot of anime, but nowadays I barely watch one or two shows per season and the occasional series from my backlog. From the recent stuff I can definitely recommend Chainsaw Man, as everyone else who has watched it does.

Didn't watch any anime in recent time, but watched Hellbound on Netflix, based on webtoon(..? that's the word i think).

it was meh. 5-6ish out of 10. Lost interest after starting few episodes, finished rest as background noise while doing other work.
Watch it if you have literally nothing to watch, you aren't missing much with it.

Went like 15-20 years without watching any anime (with the exception of Appleseed), but after Castlevania on Netflix I kinda got the bug again, just don't have tons of time to watch everything I want. So far I've finished One Punch Man, Elfen Lied, Perfect Blue, Dragon Ball Super, Highschool of the Dead and Ergo Proxy. Tried watching Berserk, but just couldn't get into it.

My niece has had me watch a few episodes of Demon Slayer with her, will watch more with her sometime to keep her happy, but otherwise have a long list. Back when I used to watch it, I didn't have access to tons, was stuff like DBZ, Ranma 1/2, Riding Bean, Lupin, Vampire Hunter D, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and some others just not popping to mind atm. Mostly movies though.

I think i watched almost every episode of Ranma 1/2. But, i have no memory of how the series ends, since it was a long time ago.

I've mostly been watching missed seasonals from the past year. Loved the new Gundam, Bocchi the Rock!, Do It Yourself, Spy x Family and the last season of Mob Psycho. All absolute bangers.

Fall 2022 might have been the best single season I remember.

I've watched a fair share over the years, I tend to go for drama / psychological stuff and scifi / cyberpunk. Some of my favs are Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Steins;Gate, Monster and Shinsekai yori. Recently watched the second season of Made in Abyss; don't let the cute animation fool you it's quite dark.

almost all good anime that i found tend to be for the first season and you need to read the rest in manga/light novel so i have been too lazy to check for new anime recently. the latest one that caught my interest is tokyo revengers, but the anime is only in the first season. i kinda regretted it watching it since was so good - i need my s2 fix but the manga isn't finished either.

the anime itself is about time traveling. the setting is about a yakuza gang that the mc joined when he was young.

Yes, i watch anime every day. I recently finished Summer Time Rendering. It is a great anime, i wonder why there was almost no hype over it.

Currently i am watching My Hero Academia. A good shonen anime, lots of action scenes and teenager heroes comedy. Although the current season has been really dark with some intense battles and death.
