What is your Main Reason(s) to Open Steam Account?

I wanted to play the disk version of black ops 1 I received :/ I probably still wouldn't have a steam account if it weren't for that haha

Valve made me. All I wanted was to play Counter-Strike! But no, then they make me download this junky 'Steam' thing that I need to use first. Long story short, I don't buy games that aren't on Steam now.

So its not closed.

I think i created it to redeem the free Portal they were giving away the week Steam launched for Mac back in 2009, or maybe earlier to download a few demos but didn't really use it until i got Portal.
