I just found out that
One Person did not even acvtivate it and one person never played one of the games I gave away. I just can't believe that. I thought people would kill eachother to be able to get that game FOR FREE and PLAY IT THEN. :(

It's just... I payed 50€ for those games, and I could have spend that money for something else, either for games for myself, or for a gift for my gf. But I wanted to give something back to you guys.

They still cant "do whatever they want with it". They have to activate it within 7 days; or be ready to receive their deserved ban.

I check from time to time, yes.

If they don't play the game that's a shame, but it happens. If they don't even add the game to their library, I report them immediately. Chances are they traded it away or something.

I have check two or three times. They added to their library, but had yet to play it. One of them did thank me and say he would be playing it when he wasn't as busy anymore. But those were the only times I checked. Saves possible frustration, if you simply gift it and don't do "background checks" ^^

When my giveaway ends i add the winner immediately, send him/her the game and wait for them to activate it right away. No excuses like "i'm saving it for later" or any of that crap. I don't pay attention how much they've played cause that would be pretty hypocritical from me (since my gaming activity consists mainly of Guild Wars)

some people want the game so they can play it later, someones like me I do not own a good computer to run some games which I really want but when I'll get a new computer having the game in steam already would be awesome

Not playing isn't such a big deal, some people aren't able to play the game on their current PC, or are respecting their backlog order. But not even activating.. That's a jerk move alright.

If they don't activate the game you can tell support about it. But if they don't play it there might be multiple reasons - they have other games they want to finish first, they are to lazy to install them, or their computer just can't run the game (I'm an example of this). If they have activated the game don't worry - they will play it someday!

"or their computer just can't run the game (I'm an example of this)."

Then you shouldn't enter a Giveaway :/

Also they might be playing non-steam mods. Like CRPG for Mount and Blade and Obsidian for Half Life 2. That way it won't show up on steam.
