I just noticed this gift in my Steam library and I have no idea when, how and why it got there. It's been a long while since I've been owing this site some giveaways, so this is a small step in helping to set the balance straight.
Though it obviously spawned one of the most acclaimed games ever made, the first Witcher game is a bit clunky. It's got awkward mechanics, uneven design and pacing, and overall simply did not age well enough to be worth a full recommendation on my part. Nonetheless, it's still a remarkable RPG, with most of the elements that made its successors great ; if you've ever had some interest in the universe/books/games/tvseries I encourage you to acquire it and give it a solid try. Some of you might even like its moderate production value, since the love and sincerity the developers poured into it is so apparent - gives it this authentic vintage veneer.
I will add you as a friend on Steam and leave you in my list, for the simple reason that it is how I've proceeded with previous giveaways and I dislike breaking continuity without valid reason. Feel free to unfriend/block me once the gift is received, I shall harbor no resentment towards you. Most importantly, enjoy the game ! :)

Since you've played Thronebreaker and you get a Steam gift for the first Witcher when buying that game, that's probably how that gift ended up in your inventory ;)
