This key's actually not as old as other giveaways I have active rn (2017), but I just remember around a year ago pressing the "reveal key" button from a 2017 fanatical bundle that didn't work, and support basically said that it was too old for them to do anything about. So hopefully your experience is more the norm than mine.
It should work with no issues. Yesterday I activated Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GotY key from Jul 10, 2017.
