Description

So it's already the last day of the Summer Sale, but I still couldn't think of anything to give away. :(

I almost went with Littlewitch Romanesque, since from what I've played so far it's good, but changed my mind at the last minute. How many people entering public giveaways even like visual novels, anyway? Oh, people try to win them, and will idle them for the trading cards if they get lucky, but how many actually play them? Yeah, exactly. :)

So why waste my money on a good game the winner won't even install? :) They will feel bad pretending to want it, and I will feel bad pretending to believe them... :)

Instead, why not make yet another crap boobie game giveaway, and not care what the winner does... :) And look, right there in the store, Sonicomi! :)

我が生涯に一片の悔い無し!

So, speaking of regrets, do you have any Summer Sale regrets? Did you buy some dirt cheap garbage you'll never install? Skip a wishlist game because it wasn't quite cheap enough? Maybe you crafted a bunch of silly badges instead of selling the cards? :) Can't wait to hear about it... :)

Good luck! :)

This game is in my wishlist, but the price and -9% is still too much, I guess :p

So this is a regret...and this sale is not that good in general.

Yeah, this game is too expensive, I couldn't justify buying one for myself... And the more I looked at the store page, the less I wanted it... :)

Seems my wishlist is full of games I don't really want, but don't want to forget about, just in case they get a 90% discount or something. :) But they never do... :(

Good luck! :)

Well, maybe I have a lot of Steam games, but it's 99% bundle junk or big discount garbage... :) I think the clever people save their money for the few games they actually want to play, but I've never been clever... :)

If the Steam download servers all had corrupted data, and only 10 of my games actually worked, I'd probably never notice... :(

I guess it really is addicting, somehow we all stopped playing games, and just play "Steam" now... Make the numbers go up! Spend more money! Woohoo...

Aha, I'm a bundle junkie, I don't even bother checking if the games are good or bad... :( If there's even one game missing from my library I'll buy it...

At the start I'd think wow, look at the great games in that bundle, I have to buy it! And I'd even pay more than the minimum if I thought they deserved more money...

But now all I care about is do I own all of the games or not... :( Like the current Indie Gala Friday bundle for example, it's probably 100% garbage but I was missing six of those pieces of garbage so I bought it, and thought hooray, six new games! Great bundle! :( Oh well.

I have some Origin games, but keep forgetting they exist. :( Like the most recent Dragon Age game, I'll never finish it because it's not on Steam... Just can't remember it's installed... :(

Oh, I have a pile of GOG games too, same problem. :( Pity, because it's so much better for old games... They actually make sure the game works before asking for your money... :) Steam will sell anything, they don't care if it runs or not...

It's quite expensive for just another boobie game :o I don't have any regrets, two games I really wanted (MGSV and Darkest Dungeon) have a pretty crap discount right now so I guess I try to pick it up next sale. And I got gifted XCOM2 + season pass so that's pretty good :)

After checking some youtube videos, apparently the gameplay is you tell this poor Sonico person what to wear, and then "take pictures" of her? Presumably at some point she escapes and calls the police? Guess I'm not clear on the details... :)

Couldn't decide if the discounts are worse this sale, or if they only seem worse because I bought all the stuff I really wanted in previous sales... :) Probably both... :)

Oh, I didn't get XCOM 2 yet.: ( Think I'm waiting for a better price, or maybe I didn't even finish the first one but forgot about it... Perhaps I should check the achievements... :)

Good luck! :)

Crafted 15 badges in the first hours of Summer Sale hoping to sell the cards while their price was still high only to find out I would be able to sell them only after 7 days, so I crafted 2 summer sale badges :P

And I finally bought Left4Dead 2 after having all my friends telling me I should. Readily played it with 3 of my best friends and didn't like it at all. Didn't seem to be any challenge, it's just pointing your gun towards the zombies and shooting non-stop. Probably will never play it again :P

And Littlewitch Romanesque seems to be cool! Are there lots of actual gaming or it's more like talking talking?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oops! :) If I were clever I'd have made all my badges the minute sale card drops began, sold every sale card, and then rebought them today. But I'm not clever, unfortunately... :) Did end up with a pile of "gems" though, grinding up all the duplicate sale backgrounds and emoticons... So that means I'll probably make booster packs for games that are about to be bundled, wasting all of them... :)

Aha, I don't play any of the multiplayer stuff... Think I tried about an hour of a Left 4 Dead game, realised it was pointless playing that way and uninstalled it... :)

Littlewitch Romanesque, hmm, not sure how to explain it. There's normal visual novel story and stuff, and there's also this dice-rolling minigame you do to learn spells, which you need to go on quests and so on. And it's all voiced, so there's a fair amount of talking. :) I'm guessing the mechanic is similar to some other visual novels I never played, so I can't compare it to them. :)

Good luck! :)

Didn't buy anything, no money right now, but I'm not regretting it as the whole summer sale wasn't made of good deals... I think I liked fast offers changed every 8 hours more like it was before.
Now just going to find a job on holiday and pay back if I will be lucky to community as well :))

crafted badges only from cards I got from drop, I sold rest.

but well, my sis bought One Piece 3 hope steam family share will work fine ;p

It's funny, somehow I think the flash sale discounts were much better, but I didn't enjoy having to check the store every eight hours for a great deal/price mistake/whatever. :) The only thing I really missed were the fun events, like chances to win free stuff, the auction, a minigame, etc. Now the only event is "buy stuff" - woohoo.

Hope the job search goes well! :)

Oh, think I bought that One Piece game, which was dumb since I only read a few chapters before losing interest. :( Yeah, looks like I did buy it. Hope there was a big discount... :)

Good luck! :)

Yeah, couldn't agree more.. The flash sales & voting was fun and interesting.. Plus it made you want to buy more due to impulse buying :P
And yes, especially the auction was fun! Or other mini-games, achievement hunting (back in idk.. 2012-13?) was awesome. Now it's just pure boredom. Nothing changed from start to the end of the sale nearly. Quite disappointing.

Oh yeah, there was something with achievements, but I forgot all the details. :( I guess "SAM" and all those jerks buying humble bundles @ 0.01 killed it. :( We'll probably never get any more chances for free stuff, too many people have hundreds of accounts, like this clown... :)

Yeah, the auction was fun, even if I bought a bunch of junk that ended up in a bundle a few months later... :) It was a good excuse to get games that had a mediocre discount, felt like I wasn't spending real money by using those gems. :)

That auction was the only time I felt good for having a pile of random garbage in my inventory, it was easy to see which emoticons or backgrounds gave the most gems, and buy big stacks of them @ 0.03 before everyone found them. :)

Hmm, speaking of gems, looks like I have some left from grinding things up in this sale. Too lazy to make booster packs with them, plus whatever I choose will be bundled next week. :)

Seems it just wasn't a fun sale this time around. :( The only game was "buy stuff." :( I'd like to think some of the clever people @ Valve are quietly working on something fun for the Winter Sale, but somehow I doubt it... :(

And I didn't really want anything else. :) I looked at each thing in my wishlist, asking myself more or less "If you already owned this, would you play it today? Or would you just think about playing it for a few minutes and forget about it?" :)

I might have installed ADOM for the nostalgia, or Doom or Factorio or The Witness or XCOM 2 since everyone says they are great, but I just wasn't in the mood to play any of them... :) Hopefully when I am in the right mood they will all have 75% discounts... :)

I bought quite a few cheap RPG-Maker games. Even though they're cheep and often nothing special, I'll play them anyway... Nothing to regret. :-)
Additionally I got myself Hyper Light Drifter for roundabout 40% off thanks to coupons.

Aha, my library is filled with cheap RPG Maker games, but I just can't bring myself to play them. :(

It's not really fair, but somehow when I see one in the store my brain assumes certain things... Someone wanted to make a video game but wasn't a programmer or an artist or a musician or a writer, so they bought RPG Maker in a bundle and hoped for a miracle... :)

Oh, coupons, I never remember those. :( I don't make any badges outside the big sales, and I'm not into trading, so I never know when there's a good one around. Oh well. :)

Yeah, it's just too expensive, but I saw nobody made a giveaway for it yet, and it seems like the sort of junk I give away... :) Hmm, Labyrinth event? Not this, I assume? :)

Yeah, my wishlist was looking pretty sad... Guess all the fun times of 75% - 90% discounts are gone... :(

Oh, I bought Stellaris, and it was good fun for the amount of time I played it, but it had a very "version 1.0 Paradox game" feel, if you know what I mean... :) I'm sure in six or twelve months (and with a pile of DLC) it will feel like a completely different game... :) I probably should have waited, don't remember what my hurry was... :) At least I skipped Hearts of Iron 4... :)

Congratulations! :) With all the new things added daily, it can be difficult not to buy a stack of cheap junk in these sales... :)

Hmm, can't remember, think I got around 70 garbage games on the first day, then gave up. :) Feels like I got a few other things, but I'd have to check my purchase history to say what they were... I remember not buying several soundtrack things, don't get any precious +1 from that anyway... :)

Aha, looks like Shadwen is the closest I came to buying anything expensive in this sale, i.e. not very... :) Didn't even get the Telltale Collection, though it was in my cart a couple times. Never played the old stuff, not much chance I'll touch the new stuff... Oh, I got this, but it's for a giveaway so it doesn't count. :)

Checking steamdb it looks like there's still another hundred or so in the big discount and/or low price pile, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it... Guess I could always delete this giveaway and add one more awful boobie game to my account, but it will be cheaper in the Winter Sale anyway... :) And if I'm really lucky, by then I'll forget it exists... :)

Good luck! :)

I eyed both Shadwen and the Telltale Collection myself. For Shawden, I don't trust the devs not to bundle the game before the next winter sale (Trine 3 has been bundled a few times already) even though the game looks very good.

Telltales was mostly the matter of the Minecraft DLC inflating the price -.-. I don't like the idea of paying more for dlc than the base game itself :/.

I personally don't understand buying soundtracks either, but that may be due to the fact that I love Spotify too much :P. Well, I could understand buying the OST for this game or Bastion, but not for some random game. To each their own I guess.

I never think to check that stuff, i.e. who's a big bundler and who never bundles anything... Guess I'd save some money if I did a bit of research... :) Like if some cheap brand new game has a 30% discount, every time I think aha, cheap, discount, I should buy it... And then a couple weeks later it's in a bundle. :)

Judging from previous sales, I got four $100 things to prepare for this one, thinking that would be a good start, but only used two. Wasn't exactly a waste of money since I'll buy random garbage every week, but it did seem weird... Was paging through all the 75% discounts or under $5 junk, even looked in my wishlist, but couldn't do it... :( I guess not adding them kept me from getting a bunch more useless badges, so hooray for that. :)

It's funny how buying the games becomes a game itself... Sort by price, or check steamdb for the biggest discounts, not even thinking if it's worth buying... :( I vaguely remember buying stuff one at a time, if I actually wanted to play, but in one of the Steam sales I noticed some publisher bundles (think they are dead now) with all their games for one low price, and it's all been downhill from there... :)

Hmm, backlog, I've heard of that... :( Do you count all unplayed games in your library, or just the ones you actually want to play some time? :)

Think I played an hour of the first Neptunia game, or at least the first one on Steam - probably more of them exist on a console somewhere? Wasn't enough time to know if it's worth playing, but I got distracted and forgot to go back to it. :(

Actually, now that I think about it, there's some other similar game I played a bit then forgot about. Aha, Fairy Fencer F. :( I shouldn't have checked, it's still installed. :( And those Agarest games, I guess they are similar too? Sorta? Still haven't tried any of them... :(

I'm only counting games I want to play but the list already kinda long, I've put all the games in a steam category and from what I can see they are around 50 but that includes a few that I've already finished on pirated releases and later bought on steam

There are 5-6 Neptunia games on steam, with one more coming soon, but there are even more on consoles as far as I know. And yeah Fairy Fencer F is pretty close, there's even crossover DLC in Neptunia. Agarest are in sorta similar not that much but close enough.

I don't think I'm entering this giveaway, because I once had a friend, a girl who was obsessed with Sonico, and it wasn't amusing for me at all =l
Regrets? None so far - I bought a bunch of great wishlisted games. Even got two VNs - Highway Blossoms (it was pretty good) and Lucy-something (not sure about this one, maybe I'll regret buying it later =)). I also have a few hours left to think about some games with 33% discount and Doom, but I think I'll survive without them until the next sale/discount.

Hmm, was it Lucy -The Eternity She Wished For-? Looks like it's in my library, unplayed so far... :( And I just gave away Highway Blossoms - wasn't cheap enough to get one for myself... :)

I skipped Doom, not really my sort of game, plus with that money I could buy 100 crap bundle games... :) Will probably get a copy when it's a bit older/cheaper, though... Every full price game I buy ends up being a big disappointment, so I try to wait, even when it seems everyone else is having fun with it... :) Oh, except Dark Souls 3, couldn't resist that one, even if it's probably a bit disappointing too...

Well, Steam is full of bad boobie games, I think some lazy developers don't even try to make a good game, all they do is draw boobies and count the money... For example, Dharker Studio games are pure garbage. :) Slightly less garbage are Winged Cloud; their visual novels are all the same, so you only need to play one of them, but the dungeon game is different, it's ok. :)

For good boobie games, hmmm, HuniePop is a good game with a lot of boobies. Then there's stuff like Witcher 3 which is not a boobie game, but a great game that just happens to have a lot of boobies in it. :)

This game, not sure if it's good since I didn't get one for myself yet. :) But it does look like a boobie game... :)

I didn't. That one was a bit too much for me, but I got about half of those from the sale, from smaller bundles like this one. ^^

Aha, if I remember correctly the big bundle wasn't too expensive, probably because I'd been buying the games gradually, when I noticed one had a discount... :)

Hmm, not sure why I should be happy about it though, since as I mentioned not a single one's been installed... What if they all suck? I'll never notice, and just keep buying them...

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. :) I tried three Choice Of games: Choice of Robots, Choice of the Deathless, and VERSUS: The Lost Ones.

Choice of the Deathless was kind of average. The journey is kind of interesting, but it isn't one of those games where you feel obligated to go through every route. :/

I highly recommend playing Choice of Robots. Well thought out story routes and meaningful text.

But stay away from VERSUS. The wording felt all wrong and jumbled. Bought on release, and after 35 min of reading, I couldn't take any more, and almost asked for a refund. It felt rushed and you could tell when the "choices" weren't gonna lead to anything. I hate when I stumble into lazy made choices in games. Fallout 4!! >:(

Aha, in that case I'll install Choice of Robots, thank you! :)

Hmm, I wonder if my reluctance to play one of those games is that they sound like books, as I have a big book backlog too... :) Someone suggested this "wheel of time" series, and I guess it's ok, but it feels more like something I should have read as a teenager, if that had been possible, if you know what I mean... Not quite kid stuff, but close...

Little Witch is nice for an oldstyle fantasy ecchi.
I am glad that lastly anime games are finding publishers and get through Steam.
They are still price'y for most of the time 2 years old tiltes it is still not a problem for me to buy one occasionally though.
Especially when content is not cut or with patches.

I'm glad to see more "real" visual novels on Steam, just wishing they had lower prices too... :) Guess they will be cheap eventually, if you wait long enough... :)

Good luck! :)

Not sure what to say, so I guess you get a boring "hope you like boobie games, good luck." :)
