Description

Extra key from Humble, should work for everyone, but if it doesn't let ...

Played any good puzzle games? I'm taking recommendations so let me know what you've played of late.

I won WizardChess here a few weeks ago and been playing it every now and then, and I was about to put it off indefinitely, fearing that it might not be for me, after all... But then I gave it another go, and it somehow clicked for me. As difficult as I found it to get into the game and understand the rules, that last run when I started to get it was highly enjoyable. I'll definitely have to make more time for it.

It is always rewarding when you just about abandon a game only to see that one last effort pays off!

What are Survivors-like games? I'm not familiar with that game, or its type.

Vampire Survivors was fun for a bit, but not too much my cup of tea.

If you consider Human Fall Flat a puzzle game, give it a go. Im not even a fan of puzzles games, yet i still loved it.

The last puzzle game I played was Station to Station. It wasn't really challenging and the beginning was pretty bland, but near the end I couldn't put it down. Very calming and has nice voxel visuals.

And last year I played The Pedestrian. This one feels more classic (at least the core gameplay), but has some interesting mechanics and it doesn't outstay its welcome.

Maybe I'll pick The Pedestrian back up. I started it some time ago but only made it a few levels and either got bored or frustrated.

I played the demo for Patrick's Parabox, which I thought was really cool. My wife was praising Whispers of a Machine she played through lately, although it's a point & click adventure with puzzles thrown in there.

Superliminal & TIS-100

Supermliminal really disappointed me. The "logic" was there but the game just kinda stretched on and on and on, overstaying its welcome. I'll look into TIS-100, although I think that is more a programming game than puzzle.

Ok, I really liked Superliminal. Nice atmosphere, clever puzzles and too short actually:)
TIS-100 is programming puzzle game. You have to solve programming challenges with a very limited instruction set and very limited space and memory.

I probably was a bit harsh with Superliminal there : )

Doors: Paradox is something I played a few months ago. It's got a plethora of different puzzle types in it.

The Witness
First one that comes to mind, not for everyone and a bit older, but I like exploration elements with puzzle and a good learning curve not easy but not really complex at same time.

Thanks !
