Yes. They're not moderators, they're just silly people making empty threats over minor rulebreaks.

I am new to this site and they are calling me a loser?

Unfortunately, that's all too common on this site. People jump to hatred and insults over such minor things.

But they have no respect ?, I had an error, because I did not know that the game was free, since my friend is the one who gives me keys.

Sadly, no. Lots of people here assume the worst immediately.

Well I apologize, when I give something away, I'll see if it's free or not.

It's a minor thing, don't worry too much about it. The point of this policy is so that when there's a limited number of free keys available in a giveaway somewhere else, people aren't encouraged to take keys away from there only to give them here. This isn't even a problem for Humble giveaways, since they're time-limited, not copies-limited, but the rule still applies.

In general, as soon as a mass giveaway starts somewhere else, that game is removed from the list of things that can be given away here until the mass giveaway is over. Which is why the standard edition of Brutal Legend wasn't available when you made this giveaway, I assume. As far as I know there's no trouble for people who make a giveaway for it before the site staff get around to removing it from the list. And in any case giveaways created after the mass giveaway started are retroactively updated to give no CV. And after it's over, the game can freely be given away here again.

But making a giveaway for the soundtrack bundle could actually get you in a bit of trouble if you only have the game itself, as what you're actually giving away has to match what the giveaway is for, otherwise the winner is required to mark as not received. In this particular case it's a minor issue, since Steam doesn't let other sites know what DLC a user owns, so there's no way to know if the winner has the soundtrack, so they won't get in trouble if they mark this gift as received but don't have the soundtrack.

Still, it's best to write a support ticket and ask that this giveaway be changed from the soundtrack bundle to the base game only. Explain that you're new here and didn't know this would be a problem.

All the above aside, it's unfortunate that you were welcomed to the community by some of the worst it can offer. Though it's good to keep in mind that the shit you got from FYNE and Toykio is a common attitude here, and something you have to live with if you're considering staying.

Oh, and, well, welcome to the site! :)

Losers? More like people who don't give away games which are already free to begin with. And if you could at least post it in the information. It's just a cheap shot to gain level.

Look, a friend gives me keys, I did not know I was free, besides I'm not a loser, I just started in SteamGifts.

I did not implie that, he implied i would be one.
If a friend gave you the key and you did not know i give you the benefit of the doubt and am sorry for beeing so quick to judge, but after beeing here a while you willunderstand why some might get angry at others giving away games which are free for their level gain and not even notiving others in the comments where to get it.

Never call a person "Loser", without knowing why he did that.

Technically, he didn't call you a loser, I called him a loser.

Are you not aware that free games don't give CV?

I am aware, but SG takes a while to pic up on the giveaways by humble bundle, so if you are quick enough you can get the points before they change it. Also it's overall just a dickish thing to do.

facepalm

Once a game is added to the no-CV list, giveaways are changed to 0 CV retroactively. The point in time when the mass giveaway started is added to the database, and all giveaways created afterwards are affected. The point in time when the actual entry in the database is made is irrelevant.
