I like this one. Of course, right now with our economic situation, it's impossible to make it (chicken too expensive, as many others ingredients), but it's my favourite.

I thought economic situation isn't really good in my country, but seems like I totally was wrong. I haven't problem with buying chicken at all.. Hope you are not starving here. Good luck to you and your family.

Sorry to hear, Jos, where are you living and why is it so bad that you can't even afford some chicken??
Alas, a Christmas dish is not very "spring"-y

I'm from Venezuela. Our country is under a dictatorship by Nicolas Maduro, and it's highly entered in economic depression with lack of food, medicines, clean water, and recently electricity (in the last month we had more than 120 hours of power outages). According to government, we don't have any problem and anything bad USA is guilty, but reality is people dying in hospitals, people eating food from garbage, people talking a bath inside sewers... Fortunately, my family still hasn't reached the point of no food, but quality decreased considerably. We hope for a change here and recover all we lose.

Hmm, I heard about dandelion dishes before, but just thought they are terrible. And now I checked some recipes.. and they look intriguing. So no recipes from me, but thanks for interesting idea ^^

Heh, glad to have been of some inspiration. :)

Here's how my mother makes the salad: be sure to collect the leaves before they bloom or at least just when they started (so you can throw a flower or two in your salad) - the early leaves are tender and less bitter. Make a plain dressing with vinegar, salt, pepper, and maybe some mustard. Now comes the best part. Fry bacon cubes until they are crispy in some oil and pour that while still hot over your salad. The hot oil will take out some of the leaves' bitterness and make your salad deliciously smooth.
I love that salad, nothing but plain boiled potates comes along with it for me.
