This is the magic bullet of boomerang keys. Initially offered to me by a colleague so we could catch up after work in game (which isn't actually a problem I thought needed solving....π) but limited free time to play & limited internet anyway scuppered that (and I'll be honest while I enjoyed the odd Worms game, I was always more a Lemmings guy myself). So she yanked it back and gave it to her boyfriend, who rejected it because "he doesn't play games with any characters that live in the dirty ground!" (yup, there's a keeper π€¦ββοΈ). Back to me again, because times are stressful and she just needs someone she can beat without any thought (flattering).
I had it in my key list again for 2 days before she called it back to try to offer it to our new temporary assistant manager at work as a means of ingratiating befriending him. (Because giving someone worms is apparently 2025's hottest new method for advancement π). The almost-teenager currently ruling over us managing us didn't even recognise the franchise and so the key came back to me, most assuredly not because she was utterly embarrassed at having been knocked back by someone half her age cough.
Back again and with still little interest on my part, a week later (generous really to let me keep it that long!) she liberated it again to try and bribe befriend the operator of the posh childcare centre she's trying to get her as-yet-not-conceived child into in 3-4 years time (her boyfriend needs advance notice for these things apparently........). Funny enough offering this and a dozen other steam keys as a "gift" didn't really get the wheels turning so it's back to me with instructions to either "use it, get rid of it or shove it up your [REDACTED]" π³
So, please quickly, take it! I really don't want to see this key anymore, run like the wind! And if an irate middle-aged Australian woman asks you where it is, just point her to the grassy knoll π€. The key originally came from a Fanatical mystery bundle, one of the copious amounts she's bought this year (you think some people on this site have issues with mystery bundles; she's bought 26 top tier mystery bundles this yearπ, I swear Fanatical should offer her stock.)

The less generous side of me wonders that it wasn't the absurdity of trying to get a foot in the door with Steam keys but the fact that all the keys she offered were the leftovers from the Fanatical mystery bundles she's obsessed with that scuppered the approach π€

This story sounds funny and at the same time like a bad comedy.
