Description

Welcome to the twenty seventh week of the 52 weeks of Christmas!!! What is the 52 weeks of Christmas you might ask? I will be giving away a new game each week for 52 week. To make things more fun, I will be asking a new question each week also. I hope that by doing this I may brighten someones week. I even create a group on Steam where you can follow every giveaway(link at the bottom).I hope you will have as much fun as I do with this.

If you own one of the games in the pack you will receive the other only.

New Week, New Questions

Q1: The next generation of console is slated to start by years end. With the new hardware of next gen consoles, new possibilities will be attainable by game developers. The bottleneck that was the old gen of console (Xbox 360 and PS3) will be lifted and it will allow for a more even development between console and PC’s at least for a season (however short or long that may be). What improvement, outside of game graphics, would you like to see in PC games as this new generation rolls in?

Q2: The keyboard and mouse is the peripheral of choice for most PC gamers. It is seen as vastly superior than any other alternatives. However, it does not fit any type of gameplay and is not adequate to all genres. Platforming or driving for example are one sector that is best played with different peripheral How would you improve the kb/m? What would you like to be added? Do you think it is just fine as it is right now?

You don't have to answer both.

I have a question too, if I may ask: Could you make a TL;DR version of your questions?

Thank you, have a nice day! :)
A1: I'd like to see a little more attention to story, mechanics and exploration, rather than the wow-factor and achievements. Something that truly binds you into playing a game.
A2: Keyboards could integrate an arcade-like analogic stick. That would allow for a more precise movement and slightly different mechanics. It wouldn't be needed in every game, but some genres would benefit from it, without sacrificing the versatily of having tons of buttons and the precision of the mouse free look.

1) Aside from graphics, I'd like a smoother transition between single player and multiplayer. I think SimCity had the right idea, but it was executed poorly for a lot of reasons. Easier real-time cooperation with friends, easier server/lobby/game setup, persistent environments, significant influence in story-driven games and so on.

2) The games I like are usually playable with keyboard and mouse (strategy and rpg), but I've heard a 360 pad is standard equipment for players. I don't think different performance between keyboard/mouse and other peripherals can be removed, since they are not entirely based on data quantity or analogic/digital input but also on shape, access to buttons, number of keys. A pad will always be better than any keyboard for a driving game. As of now there are (expensive) keyboards and mouse which fit different genres, so I can't imagine any breakthrough innovation any time soon.
