Just from watching the trailers, it looks like the player is just fighting the same enemy type over and over (aside from bosses), and I would imagine that would get repetitive after a while. If your friend is willing to accept feedback, I'd suggest thinking of different enemy types that have different AI, or perhaps even environmental hazards so levels aren't literally just walls and floor.

I do appreciate that the game's trailers show a decent amount of game-play footage, though.
