We're slinking into a few days of what promises to be sticky stuffy heat: temps are up into the 90s by day, and down only into the 70s by night until Sunday. Well, that's how we do here in the Big Yapple. I try to keep my air conditioner off until July each year to save money and ease up a little on the environment, but in these Days of Global Warming I rarely make it all the way without caving. Those long heady airless nights. How much easier it is with a little cool air stirring the room.

On the plus side, I had my first box of it's-really-summer sweet wonderful strawberries yesterday. A high point, for reals.

In a few weeks we'll start working on our summer show, The Merry Wives of Windsor, which will perform both indoors and out - if the temperatures will allow. I've been resting for a bit after getting light surgery on my finger in early April - I had a squamous cell carcinoma, now removed along with some of a fingernail that had been a part of me all those years. Weird to go through these things. Anyway, much better these days.
