Just one question...why would you buy the highest tier of a bundle if you don't want the game? Specially when it's considered bundled and you won't really get cv for it. You could have taken the extra money and bought a non bundled game. That is if you care about getting cv.

Anyways it was just a question. I appreciate you doing it anyway cause now I have a chance to win it. Which is the real reason we giveaway games anyways right. So people can win them and it's fun. Thank you.

That's what I figured. It's just surprising sometimes on this site anymore considering there is so much whining about cv.

I didn't buy this bundle cause I own all of it except this game. So it's nice to see someone else get it to just giveaway the top tier game.

That was specifically my initial thought too.

It's about a 64% discount, at $12, and the only game at that tier, so still gives full CV amounts ^^

Most times, depending on the number of games, the top tier bundles at $12 aren't bundled since they don't reach right down to the 95% range, and it has already been updated.

Homeworld Remastered

The Humble Jumbo #6 Bundle $12 game, Grey Goo Definitive Edition, isn't assigned as bundled either.

So... Yeah, charity purchase plus still gets full value for it, almost three times as much as the actual price paid. The giveaway creator may or may not have realised this, could be a nice surprise by side effect. Instant Lv2, midway to 3. ^^ Sure, there's more efficient ways of getting CV, even with bundled purchases, but I get the impression that over 2,500 people appreciate Homeworld more ;) Even if only a third would actually play it within the first month by estimate, unless they've been waiting for it.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they weren't bundling the top tier games.

You look at it though even though it's by itself in that tier it's still part of the bundle if you buy that tier. So as of right now the average price of each game would be $1.71. It'll drop even more when they add more games to the bundle next Tuesday.

I could care less if it's bundled or not but really considering how they bundle so many other games you would think this would be included.

Beyond BTA, say, $6, you'd still pay $6 extra for just that 1 extra game; even at $6 it's only about a 82% discount, still below the threshold.

A lot of games are bundled not just from bundles, but from Russian prices, particularly during discount sales, The Talos Principle and other high profile ones were affected by that, it's a confusing system working it out that way... but does help stop people paying what I think was about $1.70? equivalent for Talos, and getting $40 in CV.

The number is made up off the top of my head, but would have been around that; even if it was given as a gift copy to Russian's, whether brought by someone in Russia or outside it, is still easy to abuse for CV.

Sometimes you can assume that ultimately everything will be bundled. But in case of bundles, also worth considering the price difference then calculating it. If in doubt, it usually doesn't take too long for the high profile bundles to have their bundles assigned, then check if the top tier is.

Sometimes what you'd expect to be bundled, isn't. The Star Wars one for example had two games for $10; worth $20 each. STAR WARS™ Empire at War - Gold Pack had been bundled before, while LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, hadn't.
Assume a BTA of $6; so you'd pay $4 extra for two games; or $2 each. A 95% sale would $1. So logically, would have been bundled.

But it seems the gauge is set based on the complete price in that instance, $10 would be a 50% discount only; or 75% each priced individually as $5 packs. If anything, I would make the assumption based on the difference between BTA and the top tier, rather than think "Oh, it's only a 80% discount" when with the difference, its more like 97%. That is, of course, if your getting a bundle for its CV value, and the top tier might have something of a good unbundled value, like this instance.

Generally though, would be better off going with the assumption, "It's a bundle, so assume bundled." If the top tier then isn't, then its a nice little bonus for CV, and you might just make someone happy.

The whole "What sets a game as bundled?" is a long and confusing road... I gave up trying to work it out back at level 1, I don't worry about if something is bundled or otherwise, unless I'm specifically buying a gift copy, I just give things away yes in part for CV, but also just to give something back.

I pretty much understand how a lot of the site works already considering I've been part of this site for over 3 years and have gifted a lot.

You may pay an extra $6 to get the top tier but then it's still bundled together with the 6 or whatever amount of other games you are getting for that one price and it diminishes the value. You are not paying the BTA price and then another $12 on top of that it's $12 total so in actuality the price would be averaged out across the games.

When Russian locked games get bundled because they had a price error or something is pretty much bs for people in other countries when they can't get it for that price or say activate it where they live. I live in America and shouldn't be penalized because a region locked game in another country was price glitched or whatever.

This whole argument over cv has been going on since before I started and it'll never change. I give away games because I like to and enjoy making someone else's day when they win something. I was just curious about this one cause I figured everything that gets bundled goes to the bundle list. Apparently that isn't true which shows an inconsistency of the what should and shouldn't be bundled.
