It would be indeed better if they made a system where you link your steam account (which shouldn't be new and with at least a minimum amount spent) so that it redeem games on it.
Since we already need to link the account to make the weekly quest, that doesn't sound like a bad restriction.

It's 15000% nicer for them to give it away here than to sell it for 40€ or something.
