Hello kind sir!
Your giveaways in the Orphan drop keys thread are legendary. I was stumped by the first set - even with your explanation (count from the left). And I find myself quite sadly watching a hoped for key slide away from me because I don't understand the encryption here either.
After these latest keys are all gone would you kind enough to explain a little more in depth for those of us new/still learning about these techniques? Perhaps it will help in the future - either in an attempt to win a game or even to use the technique for one of my own giveaways. :)
Ah... I believe i am close. These are 16 character keys. The 16 characters are all there on the left but out of order. On the right side is a corresponding number (hex, I believe) that tells us the order to place each character. Clever. Simple.
But I still am missing something... either it is not hexadecimal or I am converting incorrectly. I used 1=1... 0=10... f=16. But that does not seem to work. But at least I understand what is going on in this second giveaway.
I still do not understand what you did in the first, even though I understand that it is something simple. And if you are willing to do so, I'd love to see the explanation. :)
