Opinion time!
While I disliked Mass Effect 1 combat and inventory management greatly, I still recommend playing to understand this series properly. Mass Effect 2 is vastly superior, and I had a great time with it. Even with the fucked up ending of ME3 (which was improved somewhat with a patch), I find ME3 the best of the series, it gives a sense of despair on how screwed everyone is, and how Shepard is fighting against insurmountable odds.
Overall I find the Mass Effect series one of the greatest achievements in gaming. No joke.

I played ME on Origin for the first time some time ago and I must agree, combact is kinda hard to learn at first.
Never played ME2, though. Thanks for the chance ^_^
