Description

99 Spirits is an RPG/Puzzle game that revolves around the popular Japanese folklore of Tsukumogami, everyday objects coming alive on their 100th birthday.

If you could make objects come to life on their 100th birthday what would you cause to come to life?

Whoever gives the answer I like the most will get a Vanguard Princess base game key.

A 100-year spirit? Hmm, plush dolls would be an easy answer but I've seen plenty of Twiight Zone / Outer Limit episodes, horror movies, and other spooky fiction to see how even that would b e a bad idea.

Maybe statues? Not the modern-art angular red beams sort of statues but people/animal statues. I'd love to ssee stuff like gargoyles and angel statues come to li-

... angel statues coming to life. crap. I don't want Real World Weeping Angels! D:

While that's both a creepy and good idea, it wouldn't work since only everyday objects were affected according to the folklore.

I'd make a computer come to life so I can make it do my work for me. :D

The spirit of an everyday object? Hrmm... a mirror. That'd be interesting. The things it could have seen or witnessed, and people do tend to talk to themselves at the mirror, no? While it sounds like part of a fairy-tale (mirror mirror on the wall?), it would be interesting to see it from a different perspective. Not a spirit enslaved to some evil witch/queen's will or whims. No. The spirit of a mirror, free to talk to whoever it decides is worth of their knowledge.
If that's not a valid idea, there's also having a book, a very old book, come to life. Lots of stories to tell, no?
Thanks for the giveaway, and good luck to everyone! Also thanks for the chance of thinking things like these ;) Makes for interesting conversation topics.

You're right, a mirror would've been witness to a lot of things over one hundred years. It would see someone who was nervous and excited for a date, someone somberly dressing for a funeral, someone puzzling over a problem they were trying to fix, and then it would see them all again the next morning and get a glimpse of the aftermath.

What's your avatar from, by the way? It looks familiar but I'm going to take a shot in the dark and assume I didn't see it attached to your name previously.

My avatar is DJ Sona, from the game League of Legends. I really liked the picture and her music :) My nickname, however, is just something I made up, modifying the word "Siren" in reference to the creatures from the Greek mythology (my favourite one!)

That explains it. Someone else must be using the same avatar. No surprise with it being such a popular game.

High five for a fellow Greek mythology buff. When I was a teenager I checked out every single Greek mythology book the local library had. Even the Romans thought it was pretty awesome. ;)

High...um...ten ('cause double high fives?) for fantasy too! The ones written by female authors usually top the list for me. Broadly speaking their characters and stories seem to develop more naturally.

The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley
Black Trillium by Marion Zimmer Bradley, Julian May, and Andre Alice Norton

Since your idea and one other were so good I had to show them to a friend & let him decide. He said your idea was the best, so you get a free copy of Vanguard Princess! Add me on Steam when you can and I'll send you the key since I can't send it on Steamgifts.

Your avatar confuses my feels. On the one hand it looks like that kitteh might be hugging its onliest friend in the world, but on the other hand it might have just found the perfect place to nap. Halp. How should I feel about Kitteh and Poll Potato? :'(

A miniature hi definition camera with a light attached so it could record images and video from the deepest crevices at the bottom of the ocean or in space (assuming it could move around freely in space and escape the gravity of planets somehow)
