I like complete contradiction in what you just said. How exactly would you attract customers to your store when there are so many volvo drones that even if game X was half the price in Epic, they would bend down and just waste money on steam? And even for normal, thinking people, laziness in making new account could make them stay with near monopolist abusing their position instead of trying new thing? The only way to get them to try your store is having an exclusive. Period. Also, did you forgot steam took off because they locked a few big, new, anticipated titles to their game store all these years ago. Pot kettle black?

Then there is the fact of why exactly would anyone accept Epic terms for being in small store, instead of big one, extra cash wouldn't exactly compensate this. Companies agree because volvo is parasitic company leeching gigantic cut for doing nothing, near-monopolist abusing their power as much as they like. Epic simply gives them much more reasonable deal. And it's telling what volvo did when Epic scored big exclusive after volvo refused to negotiate with their partners - they didn't give better terms, no, they maliciously edited the (gone) game store page with whiny smear trying to rile up volvo fanboys against wronged company. This was so shit take it pretty much made me sick reading it.

Epic maybe be bad, sure. But volvo is a hundred times worse company and I am willing to support ANYONE who will smash them off the monopolist podium, if only because with real competition people making games will no longer need to suffer parasites taking half money while doing nothing and the paying customers would see the game prices drop...
