^^ dont have this game, but the free to play mech warrior online looks pretty similar enough. which is where i use my favorite jenner mech when i played that game a lot.

If you never seen it, it's a must if you're into animation. Watch old TV and then The End of Evangelion. But it will emotionally wreck you so be prepared.

Take your time, this stuff is pretty heavy and you need to watch it when you really ready and able to fully commit.
By the time you'll ready, the Rebuild (remake of the original) will probably see the release of the final 4th movie so you can watch old+new at once properly.

Hm, yep, a very low-tech/realistic pair of designs there. Definitely merit for designs like those, especially in realistic settings.

Argh, this isn't easy! I've been a fan of mecha/mechs since I was a kid, so it's tough to pick a favorite.
The Armored Core games have featured some pretty nice designs over the years, and the player can put together sweet custom mecha with the parts they earn. Always liked the style.

As far as mecha anime go, there are so many great designs out there. I know you said you weren't a big fan of mecha that transformed into planes, but I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Zeta Gundam.

Yup, that first one looks awesome! Can't say that I know much about Armored Core tho, although I do think I just barely played them a decade or so ago.
Yeah, I dislike it when the plane aesthetic dominates the mecha one, but that one looks pretty good in spite of that.
