I think real people can run auto-thank scripts. It's not that thanking is rude it's that it's an easy generic script to run not clearly linked to the individualized nature of giveaways.
The developer has a whole load of low effort asset flip titles with highly inflated prices.
I assume they jack up the base price as no-one will buy these games anyway, and then they can put on a "huge sale" to make it look like there's a bargain to be had
