This one, I played a little, but I haven't managed to finish it, due to fixating over achievment about speedrunning every level. I'll try to play it normally for the story in the future though. Lesson learned, I guess. Probably.

(not entering but) I'm playing this game, the story is good until now, but yeap, I
almosthad the same problem 'cause I'm an achievements hunter. LOL. I'm not done yet, but I recommend giving it a second chance. :]Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, I definitely intend to finish it, first just playing casually, concentrating on the story, and afterwards speedrunning the remaining levels. It's just that originally I started by doing the speedruns, and it made story (in my perception) slow down to a crawl, essentially ruining the experience for me..

I absolutely know what you mean, I re-"discover" to enjoy the games with the genre of HOG's, the first run that I do is focus on the exploration and absorbing the art with the story and the plot twist. My second run is focused on the remaining achievements that I didn't catch on the first run.
I consider that, this process of replaying a game, is similar to meditating while playing.Oh! and thank you very very much for this train, you have good eyes for games in bundles! And I hope you are safe

+1
Takes more time, but I don't care when I can enjoy a game twice in different ways.
Good eyes = I'd put more bad games too, if it wasn't for my giveaway limit, but hey, there might be other events in the future thanks to that.

it's a real disease.. especially since if you beat the game then put aside to do another achievement run later, it might just go into limbo mode and never get 100%.. speaking of Limbo, I need to do that "less that 5 deaths run" for the final achievement ._.

Haven't played Limbo yet, but I'm laughing right now, reenacting all "Lol, so true" reactions. I can mention CoD: MW2 and Infested Planet off the top of my head as games that are so close to 100%, but not 100%. It bothers me a little, but I'll play them wehn I feel like it, instead of forcing myself to play them just to get 100%

Yeah I hate just running for achievements as well, that's why I like to do one run might be lengthy for both the achievements and exploring all the content, unfortunately with RPG games like Divinity: Original Sin 2, that's impossible..
Still,on the bright side, the game's fun!
Only time I had to speedrun levels was in Rock Of Ages, and it wasn't that bad, I'd much rather that than achievements where you have to grind for hours/days with little entertainment value in return like those Just Cause 2 achievements (complete 50 challenges, and reach 75% completion)

I tried playing this game some years ago and honestly, I couldn't stand it. The gameplay just isn't good in my opinion, everything is way too slow and takes way too much time to happen (or at least it was like that, perhaps they've changed it?).
Btw, I'm a bit of an achievement hunter as well, though I learned to just ignore all speedrun-related achievs. I don't enjoy rushing through games, it's the very opposite of the way I play, so as far as I am concerned, those achievements just don't exist. Makes my life much easier :D

Unfortunately, gameplay is still awful in exactly the way you describe. Still, I want to play this game and enjoy what I can enjoy (and by that I hope it will be the story and climate).
As for learning + achievment hunting, last couple years I've been going through metamorphosis of sorts, where I try to look objectively at my quirky/maniacal behaviours and try to quell/soften them. Even today, I decided to actually use a code from old HB bundle for Cities Skylines (due to free dlc giveaway), but it's a Paradox game, and it has a costly dlc policy. So I had to face my psyche and tell myself - yup, prrobably no 100% here.
I'm generally trying to enjoy games more for what they are, and less for achievments. It's going slowly, but I'm getting somewhere.

That's great that you're making some progress, good for you :) I thnk many gamers know how that feels, focusing too much on achievs can sometimes suck the enjoyment out of the game.
