I have no idea what this game is about

Well, the Steam description blurb describes the game as such:

Ghostrunner offers a unique single-player experience: fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells the story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.

But I like to imagine that it uses its name a bit more literally, and is actually a racing game where you play as ghosts, with the ability to activate ghostly powers like phasing through walls, poltergeisting objects at other racers, and shooting ectoplasm tar to impede other racers.

..but to be fair, it's been a long while since I've played a good kart racer, so my mind may just be trying to make up for that deficiency. :P

Seems the people here are talking nonsense.
The game is a sequel to the movie Ghostrider, where his bike broke down and he can't pay for the repairs so he has to get everywhere by foot and he does so speedingly.
