Were you a gamer when Shadowrun originally came out as a tabletop RPG? (I'm old-ish:) )

nope, I only played shadowrun once, in a small competition in a rpg summer camp 10+ years ago xD It was kinda fun to do this while literally knowing nothing about the system and the world :D (Only played dnd in a fantasy setting before that.)

Okay, I had to look up when Shadowrun originally came out as a tabletop RPG, to answer your question.
Given that wikipedia's data is correct, it did come out in 1989, but I didn't learn about it before the mid 90's or so
and only played it briefly. I dabbled in another pen&paper RPG ("The Dark Eye") before that and my first computer
game was "Ultima V" in 1988 (I still have the original retail box), even before Shadowrun originally came out.
So... I guess, the answer to your question would be yes.

Somewhere I have the Eye of the Beholder games on floppy's... And the remenants of my first D&D red box... I'm been called a pack rat a few times :)

I was a gamer then, and owned some D&D stuff... but then, as now, the group had trouble finding the time to get together.
Many thanks, RogueRhat.
