Description

Please be considerate and enter only if you played the base game / will actually be playing the dlc

It was going to be a sgtools link but wasn't working for whatever reason so here it is and the bonus two other games which I tried to link as a sgtools train from but errors - none worked whelp. Probably something due to the fact I can't re-login to sgtools trying to fix the darn thing oh well. I googled it and the only thing that came up was region restrictions which other than a RU version on steamdb, TWoM shouldn't have any but just in case NOTE: if the key doesn't work for you, you will agree to a reroll or deletion of the giveaway. Edit Nov 20: sgtools have fixed the problem so there should not be any more concerns over region lock.

I like the base game, so different from other games and it's "hard" that you can't do always "the right". I am very happy over more content from them.
Thanks for the chance :o)

Well, I haven't played the base game yet so I will just add this to my favourites in case I play it before this ends.

I will be playing the base game. I bought it because I want to play it.

If I win and for some reason haven't played it yet, I will move it to the top of my list. I'll treat it like a Playing Appreciated giveaway.

if the key doesn't work for you, you will agree to a reroll or deletion of the giveaway.

I see so much of this in some giveaways and no one calling it out. You cannot do this. It's up to the winner to the decide if they agree or not, not for you to dictate or demand. If the winner does not agree, you will either have to buy them a working key or live with a not received mark on your profile.

It was a courtesy warning and I am using it as such. My concerns about why have been clearly posted.

While I do not support using the phrase on every single giveaway, I had thought it over before posting it and still stand by my decision to have included it in the description for many reasons. While you are right in that it cannot be enforced, here, the pros to having written it out outweigh if it wasn't.

Firstly, there was a problem with sgtools that lead to the concerns. I do not know how sgtools coding works but I do trust it quite a bit so the question was "Does sgtools know more about the game/dlc than I do? which is why I couldn't make it protected?" The answer pointed to region-locks which leads to the second point. Obviously I could have re-created the giveaway into a region-locked giveaway but that would have undermined promoting the game/dlc, restricting it to less users. The warning is not because it's a grey key or obtained through other means, I bought the key but was wary of region-locks.

Third, not all users are very (comment )friendly, in the case that the key actually does not work, having the warning may persuade the user to leave a comment and reach out for contact rather than mark as not received after 3 days and disappear into thin air, leaving the creator unable to resolve the situation. Connecting to fourth, if the key does not work, the user won't panic as much or feel as disappointed if the warning was not posted. In both cases, trying to make sure the message that I am available for contact if anything happens is there. You can argue there are better ways to phrase it but the insinuations would be the same. I feel it is only polite for me to express my concerns than having to possibly waste time argue over it later. About calling out is off-topic but in short it's polite decency. There are more slight reasons that you may realize if thought about harder but I believe I've made my point.

Thank you for your concern, while it may be applicable elsewhere, in this scenario I stand by my courtesy warning and hope for your understanding.

You misunderstood my point, it's ok to ask that, but not to demand it.

You phrased it like:

if the key doesn't work for you, you will agree to a reroll or deletion of the giveaway.

That is a demand, and sounds like the user is signing a contract when entering the giveaway, which is not allowed on SG. There would be no problem with:

if the key doesn't work for you, please agree to a reroll or deletion of the giveaway.

They do not insinuate the same thing. And I think the winner would be much more willing to comply if you asked them nicely instead of giving them an order.

Technically it does lead to the same result but I have already been phrasing things nicely as the first word of my post. Sorry if you felt pressured by the wording that I typed in haste edits. You're right I made a mistake of not writing please, then again I think that's taking wording too harsh.

I didn't feel pressured, I'm not even from Russia. What I dislike is people not following the rules of the site when making giveaways. But ok, I give up, you clearly can't see the point.

In my defence, I've read over the guidelines twice and nowhere does it say that in the guidelines. I feel you have slightly taken a rule somewhere out of context. Let's drop this and not make a mountain out of a molehill.

Thank you very much for the giveaway! While activating the game i got an error message i haven't seen before ""failed to install [...]" but the base game is not currently on the hard drive. It's probably nothing.
Played the base game in october and i really enjoyed it. I'm going to play through this story DLC when i finish my exams and the games i already started and i'm curious about the other two story DLCs too.
Thanks again for the DLC. :)

o.O Haven't seen that error before either, yeah, maybe it's because of not having the base game installed? Hopefully it works when you play it. Good luck on your exams!
