I enjoyed 13, despite the brutal hate it has. Story is okay, very typical, with more than one wink to FFX (same team behind both games). Game is focused on combat but it's not an ARPG. Too much lineal in a literal way (halls, corridors, etc). When the game gives you freedom, it's too close to the end.

13-2 is okay. All the 'gameplay' fails from 13 are polished and made much better. Has NPCs, sidequests, polished combat, not that stupid grind, etc. However the story is simply incoherent and nuts. It has a lot of trouble on square, they used a lot of content that they didn't think of, etc.
