I believe that a child shouldn't play this kind of video games. Maybe play with his hands, learn things. And if he got to play, he doesn't need all of this... I believe that Civilization is a good type of games for a kid. If he is too young for it, he is too young for video games.
Learn to set standards. Go for the highest quality and the hardest you can get. Anything else and you are setting yourself to a mediocre life.
