Starfield: It's not Bethesda's best effort. If it came out ten years ago we'd be reacting differently, but Starfield was released in a timeframe where Baldur's Gate 3 exists. Like it or not, the "western-hemisphere"-rpg AAA-class goalpost took a considerable leap forward. Consider Starfield once the Starfield Creation Kit comes out so that modders can get in there and really blow the doors off. But only if you can get Starfield on sale, like under 15 bucks.

Starfield is just yet another Fallout. The game is good, but it's nothing revolutionary. If you give yourself a target and play a bit of RolePlay it actually is fun otherwise it may seem a bit empty at times, just due to it's massive size.
People don't like it because their favourite YouTubers told them not to, and those videos gain more attention than positive ones.
Also, your experience shouldn't be dictated by others' opinions.

Starfield is ok if on sale at 50% off or more. Not worth the full price. Maybe when all dlc is out and game is polished it will be better. I still enjoyed it but regret paying full price.
