Sometimes, the line between game, entertainment and just art is very slim.
Sometimes, I feel that the game developper(s) forgot that it was a game, and instead delivers an experience.
"Dear me, I was" which recently came out comes to mind.

I feel that saying "it has to be a game" limits art expression. Making interactive experiences is also valid

I've played some games that were good artistically, but provided piss poor gameplay (Mostly indies, among them walking sims especially). Despite how easy that genre looks like, it's hard to be engaging, to get the player involved, while basically a game world is being shown with minimal interaction.
("Dear" reminds me of Dear Esther, it was pretty, I liked the dev notes and stories a lot, but I really disliked it as a "game". I'm still on the verge if it should even be called game, which makes us have expectations. It's more like an interactive art piece)

Interesting, I did not know "Dear me " , looks like a weird experience for sure.
The example I have in mind is a much older one: The path
But in the end it worked, as the game still haunts me somehow (in a good way)

You really need to avoid Balatro-like games :)

I love minimalism when it's done well. EG https://store.steampowered.com/app/359040/The_Music_Machine/

Ohhhh it's nice!! I like the fact the horror part is on the amosphere only

I usually feel more excited about this kind of games than Rogue Trader, BG3 etc.
But i guess its a good thing that everyone have their own taste, oterwise it would be boring :)

That's fine with me. I'll take all your rpgs, and you can have all my minimalist/platformers/metroidvania/horror games

minimalist and horror sound good for me.
metro and platformers idk... I mean i had a blast playing Crash last year (still need the last achievement yikes) with a friend and it. Mainly started it cuz it was one of my fav games when i was a kid.
RPG's i just avoid cuz in most cases i dont wanna commit to playing something for 250h+.
Tho some games from my fav genre -> survival, also have quite often this kind of duration ^^
