Unfortunately I'm a little late to answer this question, but I'll still answer. No, this doesn't have any online whatsoever. At least to my knowledge. It's the reason why there are so many negative reviews on Steam for this. Misleading labeling. They say there is multiplayer, but don't mention that it's local only.

So you play over the internet, but the game thing its local network.
Oh, or do you you mean local as in "the same PC"? Then that doesn't of course work ^^.

If you are like me and most of your friends (that play games) are scattered. With something like hamachi you can play local over the internet.

Same PC only. When I played it, I never found an option for "Online" or "Local Network" or anything other than "Please connect controllers".
