Description

Sorry, I couldn't find Level 2077 in the "Contributor Level" slider. :( So I'll have to trust you guys not to enter unless you're actually Level 2077. Ok? Thanks!

Hmm... I'd ask a question, but I'm too lazy, sorry. Good luck! :)

p.s. Don't believe the hype! Never preorder! :)

p.p.s. Oh, actually, I just thought of a question! For the Level 2077 people who entered the giveaway, I'm curious... Since you gave away so much stuff, I'm guessing you have enough money to buy stuff for yourself too... So I'm wondering, were you thinking about buying one of these if you don't win the giveaway? Maybe going to wait a bit? See if there's a cheap copy for sale somewhere first? Get it from GOG instead? Don't actually like this sort of game? Just curious. :)

Good luck with the job search! Yeah, it would definitely be dumb to preorder some expensive video games if you're broke... :)

I'd have to say it's a fool's errand trying to level up just for a chance at some giveaway... :) I mean, unless you already have a large pile of unused keys you've been saving for giveaways, you'd spend more money making giveaways than the cost of the game you're trying to win... :) Oh well...

I was so happy not to see a dozen different versions of the game on the store page, deluxe mega ultra silver gold platinum diamond goty etc. Buy one game one time for one price, the end. Sigh. :)

Hope we can stand the wait, and good luck in some other giveaway! :)

Every rule has exceptions, CD Red is the exception for me (they esrned my trust with Witcher series and the way they handled DLC's and expansions like in the GoodOldDays), after I gather more gold I will preorder this as well

Hi! So I lied on my entry about the 2077 thing, real sorry. Thanks a bunch for double dipping on sharing=) To answer your question, I aim to be a patient gamer (I was kinda burned on the last 3 full purchases of mine, which were AC Unity and MGSV, both on release not that they were not good games (the gameplay of MGSV really is awesome), but both felt incomplete for the AAA pricing), so if I am not fortunate enough to win it earlier, I am going to hold out for a good sale=)

Do you actively play Baldur's Gate 2? That is a monster of content, even among other RPGs (and BG3 is around the corner:D).. but it all comes down to time and peak interest I guess, like I couldnt finish dragon age, yet finished FFVII 2,4 times (the 0,4 came from a scratched ps1 disk#2)

Permalink

Honestly, I haven't played it in a while. :( Don't remember how far I got before stopping the most recent time, either. :( And I checked, I don't have any save games handy from the original Baldur's Gate so I'd have to replay all of the first game to give it another try, not going to load any default character nonsense or pity save, presumably the developers made something like that available so newcomers could actually try the game they just bought... :)

Hmm, I actually preordered that original Baldur's Gate, back in the old days where people bought games and played them. :) Somehow managed to finish it, which is something I could never do today... :(

I remember finding some sort of invisibility ring in a rock or a tree stump or something in one of the early areas, think it got patched out later. Waving your mouse cursor around every scrap of terrain just in case there's some loot hidden in there, ain't nobody got time for that... :) Fortunately, nowadays you can just hit the "show me the stuff" hotkey and not screw around... :)

Love the old and old-style RPGs, and keep buying them, but somehow I just can't finish one. Sigh. :)

Pity saves ain't the worst though, once helped me out with a corrupted mass effect 2 save, otherwise would have never finished as starting over is the worst... Just get in the mindset of "I'd rather play"=)
But there is always the chance of getting back to it some day (with some ultra high res remaster to boot), like I had friends talk to me about battlestar galactica tv series non stop when it was airing, and here I am, 10 years later, enjoying the shit out of it (currently in the middle of season 3, going slow, 1-2 ep a week). The time for your BG2 revival will come 8)

It's a weird mix. I don't even have the PC to play TW3 or this. But as they are really my kind of games, I still "win them upfront" - or at least try it.
About buying it... it's really depends on my mood. On one day I'm thinking "hey, fiftykyu already spent this money on the game game, I want it, I will enjoy it, I'm a good winner, pick me RNJesus!". On a different day I'm " it's 60$ for a game that I can't even play.. and by the time I will be able to play it, it will likely cost third of this. Am I a dick for snatching full price game copies while can't use them".
But financially I'm not, and I'm not sure if I ever will be a person who buys at full price. Spent so much time not even having that much money to my name at a time to buy a fresh 60$ release, I'll need huge financial safety to not to think that if I wait 30% off ( often happens in weeks) that buys a HB tier 3 bundle or almost 2 monthlies, for me and to give away. I would be around 100$ realCV in the orignal system I think, definitely below 200. I'm a bundle-leveler. ( bundled worth CV only up to 30%(?) of unbundled above the 30CV limit)

I love RPGs, and I keep buying them, but somehow I can't manage to finish them any more. :( Play a bit, then stop. :( So it's pointless for me to buy this full price, but can't help it somehow. Hooray for CDPR, maybe a couple preorders will help them finish the game, who knows... :)

Good luck! :)

I heard No Man's Sky is actually pretty good today, but I think there's a lot of people who feel like they were lied to and won't play it on principle. Dunno...

I assume any key selling places like humble store or green man wouldn't have Steam keys for sale, so it's kinda buy it on Steam or you're getting the GOG version. Personally I'd rather have all my games in one place, so I can remember to play them... :)

Level 2077... well... if I add up my progress in Baldur's Gate, Elder Scrolls, Dungeon Defenders, SteamGifts, Fallouts, several Mount&Blades, and possibly also Cookie Clicker, then yes, surely somewhere around 2077!

I think I only ever "preordered" two games, and that was through Kickstrater support, knowing they may need every bit of help to even be finished at all. One sees too many examples of how preordering and expecting miracles can go wrong. :-)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Close enough! :) Pretty sure I'm Level 2077 in total in all the various Dark Souls characters I've played... :) Oh, come to think of it, probably some old stuff like Angband, used to play a lot of that. Don't remember how many levels you got in the old Gold Box games, or Wizardry or stuff like that. Probably not 2077 of them...

Yeah, and then there's all the examples of Kickstarter supporting gone wrong too... I figure either way it's kinda dumb, but it's only money. If a little help makes the game a bit more likely to happen, eh... And it's none of my business how other people spend their own cash... :)

Good luck! :)

If it were Steam, I'd probably already have spent the money... I love GOG but I don't love forgetting the games I bought still exist. :( Like whatever random stuff I own on Origin, I can't play them if I can't remember them. :(

All my Steam games, there they are, I can even favorite them and see them in a list, so I feel guilty when I don't play them... :) How can I feel guilty about not playing umm, Mass Effect whatever or Dragon Age something-or-other, if I don't even remember buying them... :) Just bought some more GOG stuff in their recent sale, and already I don't remember which ones. :(

Good luck! :)

I've had some preorder disasters, but for some reason I'm having trouble remembering them. :( Oh yeah, https://store.steampowered.com/app/271260/Star_Control_Origins/ was pretty disappointing, forgot about that one. :( And before that, my main pile of preorder suck was X: Rebirth, too lazy even to find the Steam page for it, sorry. :)

I've given away some preorder games that turned out to be garbage, but since someone else played them I can't really feel bad about it. :) Sounds like https://store.steampowered.com/app/517630/Just_Cause_4/ and https://store.steampowered.com/app/714370/LEFT_ALIVE/ were both garbage, but fortunately I didn't get either one for myself... :) Sorry random winners! :)

Hmm, do those Yakuza games count as preorders? They were new to me, but they weren't exactly new games. And they were great... :)

Oh, hey, just noticed it, you're talking about https://www.gog.com/game/simply_red_cd_projekt_red_collection right? That's some awesome stuff, except now I feel guilty about not finishing Witcher 3 again. Sigh...

Somehow I knew I'd be buying this as soon as the store page appeared, even if it sucks I wouldn't be able to help it...

Like https://store.steampowered.com/app/1086940/Baldurs_Gate_III/ - all they have to do is put a price on the dang page and people would be throwing money at them. Ok, maybe not this much money, but there's a whole bunch of older RPG fans who'd buy it just on the nostalgia, even if deep down they know they'd never have time to play a huge RPG any more... You're sitting on a gold mine, Trebek! :)

Oh, I can't do that, I'd get the horrible reduced CV if I gave away too many of these. Have to maximise the profitz! :)
