I went fishing a few times, never caught anything.
Once was with my dad and his friend, woke me up at like 3 AM and asked "You wanna go fishing?". Was very fun.
You should absolutly give it another shot. I´ve seen some shows on TV about fishing in Australia and you got some really great waters there. I would recommend some artificial lures going for predators. You´re not just sitting there and waiting for a bite but can activly "work" for it ;) After the first strike you won´t be able to stop ever again^^...A good alternative would be to learn how to fish with a fly-rod, it´s even more fun :D!
