I never see your invite only GAs because checking your "3 points..." thread isn't something that i do each few days (it is annoying to visit threads when nothing happend for weeks/month...) :o(

I don't think so, because the announcement appear in the activity feed.
I never use this because i see there the activity of 500 steam friends + groups. I, nearly, don't use it because it is annoying as fuck in that ammount (too much stuff that aren't important or interesting) and when i use it, i still see not all announcements.
It would be maybe a idea, when you reach the needed followers, to switch the group to "don't accept new members" (at least not automatic) and create then a new thread that link to the group or your other thread OR changing, shortly, the header of the actiual discussion thread with something that highlight the GAs and bumping the thread more often, that it appears in the "last active ones".
That way it would not gather the abusers that would only join in and leave after it and the ones that are there since a long time would, maybe, see "the party" ;o)
