Description

From the Humble Bundle Case & Consequence Collection bundle.

Here's my steam review of the game: "A click-to-solve narrative puzzle game in the same vein as "Orwell", you'll spend your time clicking on clues to build up a database of reference points for when you interrogate people, or investigating locations through the use of drones and cameras to uncover clues. There are also several codes to crack, which are the most difficult part of SoF, but they come with a very welcome in-built hint system. Everything is done via text, so there's a lot of reading. The main mechanics of SoF were all fluid and easy to use, leading to a game that's very easy to immerse yourself into.

I quite liked the art style of the game, and the music and sound effects were also a highlight. The lack of vsync was occasionally annoying (tears happened so infrequently that the ones that do happen stood out), and the English localisation isn't the strongest, leading to some text exchanges I just did not understand. Thankfully none of these got in the way of understanding most of what was going on. I also have some bugbears about the UX (why can we not pause or quit the game during cutscenes and phone calls?). But these didn't really get in the way of my enjoyment of the main gameplay elements and story.

If you like cyberpunk, hacking and clashing with the corporations ruling over a dystopian society, SoF will offer you a compelling story and an enjoyable few hours."
