I played the PS2 original, and the PS Vita release of this updated version, so I’m not sure I need to play it again. But it’s so exciting to see games like this get a release of PC, one of my favourites: great story, amazing characters, and pretty decent dungeon crawling. Really hope whoever wins this one enjoys it!

Persona is pretty different from Danganronpa in terms of the gameplay, but the vibe of some of the characters and some of the visual novel elements between the two have some similarities so there's definitely stuff to like in one if you like the other:)

I was so shocked to see this randomly appearing on steam. I've never played a persona game because honestly, I didn't know it existed at the time I owned an original PS2, and I've been kinda broke for the longest time so never really got chance to own another console (and just kept nudging my PC to keep up).
I wonder if I should go googling to see what is the best Persona game to start with, or whether jumping into Persona 4's story would be fine. Like I wonder if there'll be any references to continuum between the stories I might miss..

Persona 4 is the game in the series I'd probably recommend to people, so I'm really happy it's the one they released first. Persona 4 is the easiest to get into because it's more earnest and it doesn't have as many edgy elements (As an example, in Persona 3 characters shoot themselves in the head to summon their persona, whereas in Persona 4 they just do a cool pole.
These games work kind of like Final Fantasy where there isn't a story connection between any of the games. And also like Final Fantasy for references there are certain characters and creatures that always play the same role as an NPC, but they don't reference prior games; and there are winks and nods to prior games in background details, but nothing the affects the story.

Awesome, so basically this is a perfect giveaway for an ex-weeb like me to regress with, bahaha.
If anything I'm kind of surprised how low the price is, usually when they do fresh PC releases of hot franchises they're way more expensive. I remember danganronpas PC launch was priced like a totally new release, and that is pretty much just a (endearingly absurd) visual novel plus minigames.

Its definely really cool, but it's tougher to sell someone on the idea that these games generally pretty chill and kinda goofy, especially in persona 3 where there is a dog party memeber that wears a shirt and all his dialog is barking, when you also regularly watch your favourite characters shoot themselves in the head
