You step through the creature-sized hole, the jagged edges lined with crumbs of stale gingerbread. Stale gingerbread houses are known to be among the most indestructible foods in the world, yet something had torn through it with ease.

Beyond the hole stands a large candy door, its once-bright surface now dulled and cracked. Sticky trails of melted sugar streak down its sides, as if something big had been licking it, savoring the taste.
