The Stage

Stage four and we already get a real mountain finish, this sure isn't like most years. Who will take it? It's not the hardest of climbs and there are a lot of contenders this year.

Winner: Primož Roglič

Tour Touristique

Veynes
One of the main cities of the Hautes-Alpes department. The town is split in two by the Petit Buech.
A railway stronghold since the construction of the Étoile de Veynes more than 130 years ago. It was around 1875 that trains entered the department at Veynes, followed by the construction of an engine depot and a railway roundhouse in 1885. A major railway hub in the Southern Alps, installed by the Paris to Lyon and the Mediterranean railway company (PLM) and its engineer Adrien Ruelle (native of the city), it remains today as the crossing of four lines connecting Veynes to Marseille, Grenoble, Briançon and Valence.

Wow, I wish I could claim that!!

Well spotted!

In other years I did try and to match the game titles to the type of stage so I could make bad puns (a game with Heaven in the title for the highest mountain, etc.) but this year I was pressed for time and skipped that step. Once I had everything finished I still went back through them all to see if there was a pun to be made but this one flew right over my head. :D

Bardet and Barguil aren't looking to be in great shape, Wout Poels is still nursing his injury and the GC guys will probably not contest the win. Loads of possibilities left but I have to pick one...

Just a random guess today: Omar Fraile
