October is of course my favorite month. The crisp of the weather, when the weather is crisp; the bluster of the cloudy windy days, and even the gray soak of rain - all full of quiet, of edge, and of the wayward end of our green months. They teach us time, these days. I'm at an age when there's a lot of past in my present, at any given moment. October is when I remember smiles, sweaters, apples, setting suns.
