What a lot of non-comment-reading thankers above! I was going to say gold or silicon, but since life is carbon based, I'm going to have to go with carbon - that way I can still have diamonds if I want to get rich and futuristic graphene-based computers to keep my internet habbit going, plus some nanotubes left over to build my space elevator. Also, carbon seems to be deeply unfashionable these days and needs someone to stand up for it. Thanks for the speedy giveaway and the original question!
