Well I continue with my weekly 2016 puzzles, This one I am actually creating on time this week. So it will end, as per normal, next Monday at 11pm GMT. I am also planning a fairly special puzzle sequence over Easter, where I will give away a Witcher III amongst other stuff (though you might have to work a bit for that one). Anyhow, on to this week's trivia based puzzle:

This is a puzzle that I call "Let Me Make Myself Perfectly Clear"

And it consists of a bunch of trivia questions, which I have presented below
The prize this week is Shipwreck (http://store.steampowered.com/app/342490/)

Good luck with the questions:

  • alluvial deposit at the mouth of a river
  • can be used as a prefix to signify one thousand
  • director of “Four Weddings and a Funeral”, “Mona Lisa Smile”, and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (first name)
  • each year the Gunpowder Plot is commemorated in this month
  • english colonial settlers in New England and their descendants, often used pejoratively
  • every Don't Starve player fears this night monster, who only attacks when the character is in darkness
  • food, lodging, and other guest services are provided by such an establishment
  • generally danced to big band music in 4/4 time
  • her flag sports four fleurs-de-lis, and she is where joual is spoken
  • Hugely influential graphic adventure publisher founded by Ken and Roberta Williams
  • iconic gold statuette
  • it is one of the only ball games that does not require a standardized playing area
  • Latin ballroom dance for which Argentina is known
  • made from sound waves reflected from a surface
  • only South American capital city on the Pacific coast
  • photon having a wavelength in the approximate range from 0.01 to 10 nanometres
  • resident in northeast Natal province, this is a Bantu tribe and language
  • slipper for a woman or a bridal cap
  • Someone who defeats an enemy or opponent
  • someone's father
  • Stage in game development when a game is feature complete with key gameplay functionality implemented and assets partially finished.
  • the birthplace of Kipling and site of many of his stories
  • this shout of approval is often used interjectionally in applauding a performance
  • uisce beatha, literally water of life, beverage distilled from grain
  • Unlucky play boy from Verona?
  • Unvarying or unchanging, consistent in conduct or opinion

Good luck

Hints:

  • Step one -- Normally, the way to start any puzzle that has trivia is to try to answer the trivia questions or as many of them as you can
  • Step two -- After identifying what the answers to the trivia questions have in common, you should be able to fill in any gaps
  • Step three -- The ordering is very important.
  • Step four -- One thing that always works well with a list of things is an Acrostic. Look it up if you don't know what it means.
  • For Mikalye's Second Tricksy Riddle - This is eight

Solution:

Solve each of the 26 trivia questions, the solution to each is one of the NATO alphabet words: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, and Zulu.
Simply sort the questions so that these are in alphabetical order and then read down the first letters of the questions to get "Steamgifts code is hUHLU. Super!"

That is the crux of the puzzle. For what it is worth, it already has at least one solve.

Bump for the awesome challenge and solved. This may serve as a consolation after hitting my head over the wall too many times with that last week's challenge.
