UPDATE (April 29) - You should have been autocharged one week in advance for this bundle if you are a subscriber.

I was charged $10.80 ($12 x 10% HB Monthly coupon = $10.80)

Have problems with your payment?

try to ...

  • contact customer support here
  • update your payment information

Because I get the same questions in my inbox probably 10+ a day ... Q + A ❤

Q: How does this 10% off coupon work? Does it work for 1st time subscribers only? What about current subscribers?

  • A: To both first time subscribers AND current subscribers: You CAN use the 10% off coupon. They autocharge you $10.80 (if you have the coupon) one week before the bundle goes live, or you can pay early to get the the featured unlock game and still get the bundle for $10.80.

If you pay $12 for next month's bundle, you will get a key for the featured game immediately. If you are already a member and choose to wait it out for the pay-date (1 week before the May bundle launches), you will get a key for the game then.
Note: Some people may have 10% off coupons for the monthly bundle. These coupons will apply to your purchase, and you will pay $10.80 instead of $12.

Q: "When is the latest I can unsubscribe (if I am a [re]current subscriber) to avoid being autocharged for the next month's bundle if I subscribe for this one now?"

  • "[re]current" meaning you let the system autocharge you based on your payment details on your account profile"*
  • A: ONE WEEK before the next bundle goes live, you will be autocharged if you are currently subscribed. This means you will be charged APRIL 29 if you want the MAY MONTHLY BUNDLE.

  • I recommend unsubscribing right away if you know you don't want next month's bundle.

Q: BUT WAIT!! I decided that I want the MAY bundle and it's passed April 29th...! Can I still get it??

  • A: YES. April 29th is the day they AUTOcharge you if you are a recurrent/current subscriber

    • [re]current meaning you let the system AUTOcharge you because your payment details are in the system and you don't unsubscribe
  • HOWEVER, if you want JUST the MAY bundle, subscribe for it NOW, PAY, and IMMEDIATELY UNSUBSCRIBE so that you DO NOT get charged for the JUNE bundle.

Your LAST day to get the MAY bundle is MAY 6th BEFORE 10AM PST

Q: Can i unsubscribe right away if I just want the MAY Bundle?

  • A: YES, you can unsubscribe away if you just want the MAY bundle. You will get Mad Max + Everything else that will be in the bundle once it goes live.

Q: What is the latest I can be "subscribed" to to avoid being charged for the next month's bundle? (JUNE Bundle)

  • A: You MUST unsubscribe before they charge you a week before the bundle goes live. The latest to unsubscribe for the MAY Bundle is APRIL 29th.

Q: Will I get everything inside the bundle if I subscribe just for this month's bundle, and then unsubscribe right away?

  • A: Yes, you get the entire bundle and won't be charged for the next bundle.

Q: Do they reveal games early?

  • A: NO. They do not provide hints. Sometimes they may, but this is very RARE. One or two days before, they will reveal a Humble "Original," which is an exclusive DRM-Free game provided only by Humble Bundle. However, they DO NOT REVEAL GAMES BEFORE THE BUNDLE GOES LIVE.

Q: Will I still get the Early Unlock game(s) if I don't want to pay early for the bundle? Will I be able to get the game if i buy it NOW before the bundle goes live?

  • A: ANYONE who buys the bundle, whether you pay early, have a current subscription and let HB autocharge you 1 week before the bundle goes live, or don't have a subscription but decide you want to purchase the bundle, AS LONG AS YOU PAY FOR THE BUNDLE ANYIME BEFORE THE BUNDLE GOES LIVE, YOU WILL GET THE EARLY UNLOCK GAME.

  • The only benefit to paying early is getting a Steam key for the early unlock game earlier than people who choose to pay later on.

I can't really complain, I get more value than my 12$ worth but it seems the bundles are getting less and less attractive. I don't care if it's indie games that aren't worth that much but I know a lot of them out there that would make a much nicer bundle than random game that 95% of people never heard about.

When the first month bundle started I ended up keeping all the games because they seemed really good but, couple of months later the games look so bad I'm giving 98% of the bundle away.

First time I got the monthly bundle, must admit that from all the games that were reveled today I only heard of Oddworld...wow not a single game that was on my radar...at least I got Mad Max...can't say I'm not a bit disappointed.

I did see some screens on steam that can be labeled as disturbing or creepy but I am a horror fan so I should be fine :) plus I enjoy a good point and click every now and again.

if you don't like indie games then buying Humble Monthlly may not be the best idea for you (unless you consider it as just buying Early Entry game as a discount plus some freebies for GAs). You usually get 1, 2 tops AAA game and the rest are indies.

Permalink

Yes, I hoped on another 1-2 not indie games. I liked some games in earlier bundles so it's a trial and error thing I guess :)
But it's not what I thought it would be :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

you hoped for 2 more non-indies based on what? Let's go on monthly history: November - 1 AAA game, December 1-2 AAA games (depends if you count Payday2 as an AAA), January - 0 AAA games (all indies), February - 1 AAA game, March 1-2 AAA games (Ark may be AAA but is still an Early Access), April 1 AAA game. So on average 1 AAA game per month. And you say you were expecting 3 AAAs, while in no previous bundle you got that much.

Like I said - maybe Monthly Bundle is not best idea for you. Because based on what you said you expect at least 2-3 semi-new quality nonbundled AAA games per month for 12$ (plus at least 3 bonus indies) - it's not gonna happen ;)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't say AAA game. I said NOT-INDIE. Fe for April: South Park &This war of mine. For March: ARK, GRAV & Wasteland2. For February Alien + Broken Age. And January only Talos but it had others on my wish list like Grim Fandango. So all those bundles had (for me) better games in it.

This month it's apart from Mad Max, maybe Fran Bow. But I just expected better then pixel games since it was a very promising beginning. And when you take a gamble you always expect moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Cheers m8

This War of Mine is very much an indie game - 11bit studios is a small independent studio with 2X employees total including HR, financial dept etc.

GRAV is an indie game - BitMonster says about themselves they are indie on their own website, company is 7 people total including 5 devs ;)

Heck, you can even argue than Talos is an indie game, because even if Croteam is a bigger, more established , older studio with popular games on record they are still an independent developer studio ;p

Technically, I guess I shouldn't be complaining - I got (and am enjoying) Mad Max, Fran Bow was on my wishlist and Oddworld looks interesting enough to keep. Made a chunk of my money back for the games I didn't want, as well.

...and yet somehow this bundle still left a sour taste in my mouth. Perhaps because it was my first subscription and I expected even better. Part of me wants to stay subbed and give this another chance, but meeeehh.

It's probably never going to be worth it for these bundles unless you're interested in the initial revealed game. I liked this bundle, as I really only wanted Mad Max at a good price, I loved Oddworld back in the day too so that's a bonus.

It will be, the almost AAA this month, though i dont understand the problem most people have with indie games.
2 months ago Nuclear throne was one of those indie titles and in my opinion the best game of that month.

i dont have any issue's with Indie games i have like a 1000 of them Rocket league included i just thought when they announced the monthly subscription service they said there would always be one AAA title from the last year as well as a highly rated indie game from that same year.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I believe they were announcing the upcoming bundle only, not meant it as a system for all monthly bundles, because last monthly wouldn't fit it for example. Even if we consider both South Park and This War of Mine as AAA (I would consider TWoM as indie but whatever) they were both released in 2014, so are not from "last year"

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yea thats likely, i just found there official announcement it says:

It will contains 6 games each month. All the games will be for Steam, but in the future, the bundle may include DRM-Free games or games for other platforms too.

1 hot title - Less than one year old.
1 highly-acclaimed title - Between one to two years old.
1-2 hit indie games.
1-2 hidden gems from developers.

so i guess they must have just been talking about that first month, tho now after reading that im kinda worried about "games for other platforms" if they ever stuck keys for "other platforms" in there bundle without warning us i would likely cancel my sub permanently lol.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I guess they won't add games for WiiU 3DS etc, as mnost of subscribers doesn't own these systems and wouldn't be able to play their games and that would mean a lot of unsubscribers for them so would be a bad business ;) I think they meant that games may be for other PC-related platforms besides Steam - so for example bundle may include games for UPlay, Origin, GOG etc for titles that didn't get released on Steam.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well thats not as bad i guess, tho i dont use any of those platforms other then a few games on Origin i like everything in my steam library lol

Permalink

well, you got to remember that newer EA games usually don't come to Steam at all, they are Origin exclusives ;) That being said I would not mind if for example next monthly would feature Dragon Age: Inquisition, even if it would mean it was Origin only ;) Or for example GTA5 but as Rockstar Social Club key ;p

Permalink

Yea i wouldn't mind if some were on Origin and for $10 i would take a copy of GTA5 on rockstar but i would still want it for steam lol.

Well, I bought into monthly in May. I have seen previous bundles with South Park, Renowned Explorers, This War of Mine, ARK, Wasteland 2, etc. I missed out on them, so I was eager to see what it will include this time. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in what the bundle turned out to be. With Mad Max I have to say that I regret having trusted in the steam community as they rated the game pretty high while critics' marks where much lower at the time of release which is not quite good for a AAA game. Ultimately, I got a pretty shallow, extremely buggy and overall casual experience. The only thing separates it from being one of those poor licensed titles is the studio. As for the other games in the bundle, neither Fran Bow, Crawl or Oddworld are bad games, but I do not really see anything which was worth this "premium" bundle as most of these games should be in a regular bundle in a year of time.

Yeah, it looks like an incredible game. I always liked the theme and atmosphere of those horror titles like Outlast or Amnesia, but I never had the nerves to play them myself. Fran Bow seems like something on that line, still it is less immersive due to the pov, so I definitely want to give it a try.

How sg is counting full cv value for monthly bundle games?
why they aren't bundled on sg?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They are unbundled because the bundle price ($12) is not 95% or more off the TOTAL retail price of $162.92.

95% would mean the bundle would have to cost $8.146 in order for the games to be "bundled"

Again, the bundle cost $10.80 with a coupon. Therefore, this bundle is at most 93.337% off, not quite 95%. Thus, these games are unbundled in SG.

Not everything that is in a "bundle" is considered a "bundled game" in terms of CV.

these 3 games alone are full priced at 95$, so even if you are intrested in these 3 ony it means over 88,5% discount and it's nothing special? Not to mention that if we consider whole bundle it means you got all these games on over 93% sale ;p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's nothing special because we all saw what happens to warner bros games with nuuvem , and fran bow will probably be tier2 soon along with oddworld ( that was free on ps4 with psplus). So yeah, nothing special like wasteland 2 and ARK , but nothing too bad.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

tier 2 in good bundle means 5/6 $ . It's 1/2 of a price of a monthly and it will surely not feature any AAA game and will feature less quality / never-bundled games. Imho you are just unrealistic. You get 93% deal and consider it nothing special, because you can easilly get these games on nuuvem sale, in tier 2/3 bundles etc. Not considering that these things combined will cost you not 10.80$/12$ but 20+$ combined.

Permalink

Maybe you're right , this bundle altogether was the same as buying them from tier 2+nuuvem,but i never would bash the bundle,it's just that i would've liked the sequel to the stanley parable instead of something else from it :/ oh well.

Honestly somewhat disappointed in this, aside from mad max, this seems like a kind of filler bundle for this month, it's got like 1 game from my wishlist in jumpjet rex, but aside from that and crawl I don't really see the effort here to give me a reason to continue with my sub. I dunno, maybe I'll hold on for a month and see how it goes next time, but then again I already have rocket league...

I'm glad I didn't end up preordering the May bundle... I'm in no hurry to play Mad Max I would probably need to upgrade my computer first, Crawl has been on my wishlist for a little while but that's not something I'd want to play right away. Fran Bow is the only title I'd be truly, truly interested in. With a little luck, it's going to turn up in a regular HB bundle in a not so distant future. Second tier, most probably.
